These days it seems that a lot of television shows are preceeded by this message. Has tv become too graphic for general audiences? What does this say about society?

Yes, I believe it has...especially with so many kids watching television. I generally do not allow my child to watch everything but I find even parents are being very easy o the children and allowing them to watch anything. Their view point is that anyways the kids are going to be exposed to it. But I'm not sure if exposing them to all that before they are taught how to act responsibly is a good thing. My husband and I fight about it all the time. He thinks it's okay for a 6 yr old to watch anything he wants and I don't!

I'd have to side with you on this. At six years old you don't always see things for the way they are because you simply don't have the ability to do so. Children have to be taught that what they see on television is not all real; that the majority of it is make believe. Thank you!

I do not think television is too graphic for general audiences. I just beleive it is a small minority of people who complain at anything deemed explicit or violent.

Perhaps that minority are people that have children, such as myself. Personally, I like most graphic tv programs, but I worry that my daughter will be negatively effected by things she sees on tv. Thanks for posting.

tv hasnt become too graphic, people just believe that they can do things that they see on tv and get away with it, like rob a store.

Perhaps tv glorifies crime and that is a problem, don't you think? Thanks for the reply.
