ive experienced that before and truely understand how u feel angel_of_charm... forced to resign without any valid reasons is really hard to accept..your reasons though is valid, why didnt ur company just place u on a maternity leave? it's sad that they never give u the best of their understanding from what ur going through..but dont worry, maybe it's not the right company for u.. i know u will again start from scratch, but i assure u, the next one would be better.. have a nic day..

Does your country not have laws protecting mothers to be? I think what the company did is not acceptable. Is there a lawmaker that you can turn to? Or does the law allow such practices? I assume that you have not been prior counselled for work tardiness, even before your pregnancy?

If you are in the US this is illegal and you can sue. I remember when my mother was pregnant with my sister they had fired her saying that my mom missed a lot of work. This is bogus because in the six years she was on the job she only missed two days. My mom had filed a claim with the department of labor and had a hearing. Even though a company cannot fire someone for being pregnant they had fired her giving her a false reason. My mom had won because the company could not prove that she had missed a lot of work and my mom could prove that all her doctor's appointmnents were made after work hours (she worked from 6AM-3PM and her appointments were always 4:00PM or later).

Is there a company policy regarding employee getting pregnant will be forced to resign? I get pregnant too while I was working but our company didn't made me resign. That's a lame reason that you will incur tardiness when you are pregnant. Anyway, you should ask your HR if there is such rule you agreed upon, otherwise this is definitely wrong.

I feel sorry for you since you are pregnant and you don't have a job. I wish you get a better job where maternity leave is granted. Is is sad because of your pregnancy you were forced to resign when there are systems that take care of it. In my country ladies get maternity leave when they are pregnant and after delivery they are taken back for work. This should happen everywhere i guess. I wish you luck with finding a new job. Have a wonderful day ahead.

Well, I am 6 months pregnant as well but I'm still working up until now. My company didn't asked me to resign or what. I'm really sorry to hear that news. In this time, i know all you can cling to is your family. Don't be afraid to ask support from them since it wasn't really your fault that you are jobless now. Though it's sad to have lost your job, but just think about it i a positive way so that you won't be going through a state of depression cause it wouldn't be good for your baby. Just try to think that things just happens for a reason and if a door closes, a window opens. Well, maybe you do deserve a more better job than that and that maybe you could find it after you have given birth to your baby. Just don't worry to much okay. Just ask support from your family and don't ever hesitate to do that since you really need it right now. Good luck on your pregnancy and stay strong..

In my home country a pregnant lady that loses her job due to her pregnancy would be likely to visit the citizen advice center. They would tell her to take the company to court for unfair dismissal. The company have been so very mean to you. You need a job to earn money for your baby. Maybe you could find another job. I hope so or take the company to court. Good luck.

I really feel very sorry about your suffering. But, it is not the end of the world, right? One door close, another door open! Your baby is the best gift that God gave you. It will be a precious experience for you to bring your kids up. It is really amazing. You can get numourous pleasure from the process. I am sure that you will find that everything that you do for your baby is worth one day. The old job you lost, but a new one will waiting for you ahead. Cheer up!

I haven't experienced that. Although I've been absent because of some injury I didn't plan. I broke my shin once, and I couldn't walk. An accident caused a fracture so I couldn't put any weight on my leg. I had to leave work and let the injury heal.

It really sad to know that you had lost your job. This is quite very strange. Here the people or the workers are given long leave when they have any such health or other issues. No one is suspended over here. Anyway you have to adjust with it and you should try to get a good job after you reach at a particular level to take part in a job.

I am sorry to know that, angel .Is it legal to fire a pregmant woman in your country? Here in my country it is ilegal to do that. We can earn money in many ways. Don't worry so much, dear. Anxiety is not good for the unborn child. Cheer up, there is always a way out.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I am hoping that I won't get pregnant because I'm afraid that I'll have the same situation. I hope you can find another one. Don't lose hope. Stay healthy and happy.

if you are a regular employee and they fired you for pregnancy reason, then this is against our labor laws. Check with the department of labor and verify if you could file a complaint, appeal your case or claim for damages. Meanwhile, scout for opportunities that will translate to cash while at home. My daughter in law stopped working (husband and wife mutual decision)after giving birth and choose to be a stay at home mom but today she's earning just like an office employee by baking goodies and accepting orders from clients.

If you are a regular employee, then you really have a case to file. It is strictly against labor code to fire employees for such reason as yours, or to have you resigned, if that's what they did. Especially if the only ground given was that of your pregnancy. You should consult a lawyer for legal counsel. You should not be worrying yourself much, remember that your baby feels what you feel too. Good luck and God bless. :)

I actually know someone like you who was fired just because she was pregnant. The company gave the same reason, that she might incur tardiness and may affect her productivity and of the company as well. After a month, she filed a case against the company. Turns out that what the company did was against labor code. The company ended up settling and payed her for damages. I don't know from where you are at, but you might as well check the labor code of your country then seek legal counsel if you can. From where I'm at, most lawyers want cases like yours because they are sure wins.
