i don`t know if it is coincindence or not..but this is the general opinion from any Arsenal fans (iam not arsenal fans)..maybe their curse will be affective for their captain which leaving Emirates Stadium..
I get the first example, Patrick Viera is the first captain leave Arsenal. He leave arsenal (highbury stadium before it is changed name Emirates stadium) 2005 ago..He joins with Juventus, but it is unlucky for Viera, the italy league trophy for Juventus is taken back by FIGC because the scandal. Viera than move to Inter Milan, but he did not get his performance like in Arsenal..He is always playing from the bench and he close his career with Manchester city..
The second captain is Henry which leave Arsenal 2007 after their team is failed get the champions league 2006..But King Henry is failed showing his best performance like in Arsenal..
the third captain is Cesc Fabregas last season, but he only gest the Copa Del Ray and failed bring the La Liga trophy and champions league.
and RVP is the fourth captain which leave arsenal..
Will the curse happens too for RVP this season??

You missed one captain, adhyz: William Gallas.
He's one of the defender in the world who wore the number 10 shirt.
And he was a captain too at Arsenal, right?
And in Spurs? I don't remember he won anything there, CMIIW.
As I cheer for Man Utd, I do hope this curse won't apply on RVP, adhyz.
In fact, I do hope RVP will help Man Utd lift their 20th EPL trophy, just like the shirt number RVP use in Man Utd: 20

I think in case of both Viera and Henry, both players were off their best when they moved on. So really that lack of trophies really did not mean much. BTW, Henry did win the Champions League with Barcelona before moving on to US, but he was playing mostly off the bench. But Van Persie and Fabregas are relatively young and have still chances to succeed with new clubs. I think for Van Persie though the key would be whether he would be fit. For Arsenal he has had two forms, he is either in excellent form or is injured!! So we will need to see how he shapes up at Man United.
Cheers!

you maybe right RVP isa great player and if he is fit i think that Man united will lift the premier trophy. If you look at RVP's history he is very injury prone and other than last season he hasnt really lasted a season. So RVP's fitness is always going to be a worry.

i have no doubt about his ability when he partners Wayne Rooney i think that will be an Excellent partnership maybe one that the premiership has ever seen. I am just a bit concerned about his fitness as he has been unlucky with injuries in the past that said i do think that its a good buy for Man U.

yes, I agree with you. In recent times, the player who was captain at Arsenal always leave Arsenal to play with another team. I do not know if this is a habit or a picture if the Arsenal captain to win the title. But in reality League title could not be felt by the former Arsenal captain in the first season in a new team. Now for the RVP, we'll see what he would get in the first season.
