Liverpool started the new era under Brendan Rodgers in the worst possible manner losing 0-3 to West Brom. Daniel Agger with an eye on a Barca move was sent off with a red card. Goals from Zoltan Gera, Odemwingie and Luka put the game to bed against a lackluster Liverpool. West Brom could even afford to miss a penalty through Shane Long. So it is baptism by fire for Brendan Rodgers. Cheers! Ram

Liverpool played poorly and deserved to be beaten. The almost 'new' Liverpool did not look so differently from the one we saw last season, as far as the performance on the field is concerned. Fabio Borini did not have a good game. Steven Gerrard was subdued. Brendan Rodgers still has much to do to turn Liverpool around.

Steve McMahon when asked what Liverpool needs to do at half time came up with a quote saying, they need to bring Gerrard on!! :) That really was the case as Gerrard was totally missing in the first half and actually for most of the second half as well!! I think Rodgers will need to learn fast that what was acceptable at Swansea might not be acceptable any more at Liverpool. Cheers! Ram

I can imagine the pressure that a manager could have, especially a new manager. The performance on the field is the responsibility of the manager. In one or two games, it may be said that the players have not played according to instructions, but when it happens all the time, people will start to question the ability of the manager to communicate with his players. I hope Liverpool will do better soon.

Yes, it is a big step up for him from Swansea. The goal at Swansea was premier league survival only. At Liverpool he would be expecting to be fighting for trophies!! Cheers! Ram

There is no doubt they would need to improve rapidly if they are even to think about a top 6 finish at this rate. But I think they cannot be as poor as they were yesterday. Let's wait and watch. Cheers! Ram

Yeah, Liverpool got the worst start between the Big Five. Mancini City and Chelsea got the best one, since they can win their first matches. Arsenal got drawn. And Man Utd also lost from Everton, too. Too bad for RVP and Kagawa Well, it would always exciting to see where Liverpool end this season. Will they overcome Spurs and Newcastle, or will they end below them like before?

I would say that both Liverpool and Man U had a bad start. Chelsea got the best of the starts, while Man City (I like the way you put it as Mancini City) also got off to an exciting start. Arsenal again huffed and puffed without scoring. Cheers! Ram

Oh! It was not at all a good performance from Liverpool players. They were failed to score at least a single goal, where as West Brom scored thrice. I hope Liverpool will have a strong come back .

Actually Liverpool did create chances but they could not take any of them. Suarez had two good chances to put Liverpool ahead before West Brom started scoring. I think Suarez is coming off as a player who needs many chances before he scores any goals. Cheers! Ram

I know this game from the news. I am very surprised by this result because the score obtained is final. Far beyond prediction because initially Liverpool in sieve-sieve will re-occupy the big four but this result illustrates that Liverpool still have not shown the performance of the club winning the second highest English league title. In the match, Liverpool did not play as well after Daniel Agger was given a red card.
