Anyone have any suggestions why my browser, FireFox won't load anymore? I had a few trojan horses viruses which I managed after a couple of days to vamp out. Then I rebooted but FireFox won't load anymore. Any computer wizards out there, or in here?

In the worst case, do a complete system recovery. Viruses have a nasty way of messing your computer up, and virus protection isn't always effective.

Yeah, AVG found the virus but could't do anything about it because the virus was white-listed. How do I do a complete system recovery??? Although my computer seems to be running pretty good now. I'm using IE.

It's a HP. I recently uninstalled FireFox and then reinstalled it. But it doesn't load at all. Just a blank white screen. Thanks for any help you can give me.

What brand computer are you using? I can help you if you're using Toshiba, Acer, HP, or Compaq. They all have built in system recoveries.

Well, it could have damaged your Firefox and the best advice I can give you is to uninstall Firefox run a cleaner such as CCleaner and advanced windows systems cleaner 5 use these then use a site that is virus free to download Firefox again such as filehippo great site for free downloads. Good luck.

I see that you got the advice to delete and re-download Firefox, that's good. Now you need a LOT of protection! I have a lot of free protection that has kept me trouble free for more than a year. I get things but they catch them! I have Immunet 3.0, MalwareBytes, IObit Malware, Spybot Search and Destroy and Microsoft Security Essentials. I run scans using all these tools at least twice a week and at the same time I update them. Once you clean your machine it's important to keep up scans and updates, just like locking the doors in your house. I hope your PC gives you no more trouble!

I have SGV and MalwareBytes. And I did have something with Microsoft (can't remember what). Anyhow, good advice to keep up with the scans and stuff. I really did think I was though. Duh me.

Try reinstalling firefox. If it didn't fix that: I would always suggest reformatting your computer and of course backup our files. As antivirus cant really clean 100% most of the time the viruses. Reformatting would assure your that your computer is virus free.

I wish I know what that meant: reinstalling FireFox. I would do it if I knew how. Thanks though.

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji, Well, I am not that expert, but I just want to know, what kind of Anti-virus is incorporated in your computer, is it genvin, or downloaded free asa experiment. Earlier i was always in trouble, but since 4 yrs, iam regularly using authenticated anti-virus in my computer and having nil problems. Yesterday only I installed 'KASPERSKY-2012' for INR-600/ with taxes. I am now faerless from Virus. May God bless You and have a great time

I have AVG, the free version. Although I did have the 30 day free trial downloaded, which apparently didn't help either.

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji, Well, I think you plaese switch over to some genvin package to support, free trials are dangerous, I had lot many experiences earlier. May God bless You and have a great time

You better try to use more anitivirus software and if its there it will prevent any malware,or some infected virus from getting into the computer ,so try to get the addons enabled and firefox will work fine.so its all about compatibility factor at any point of time

Ok, I will have to digest your info. It's about the add-ons?

The first thing I would try is to Uninstall Firefox and then to download it and reinstall it.

It should go without saying that you also need a reliable, up-to-date antivirus solution. AVG, Avast and Avira all do a free version and all are very good and as reliable as Norton and McAfee or any other paid AV solution. I use Avast. Before you reinstall Firefox, you should run a FULL scan with the AV solution of your choice.

Maybe I'll try another antivirus program like Avast. I have AVG. And I might not have run a complete scan before re-uploading FireFox. I will try that again. Thanks so much.
