No, but sad to say some student didn't following this rule, sometimes they use it to cheat and that's really unfair to others who reviewed and study lesson that is the thing I really hate. :( thank you for sharing this! Have a great day ahead! Happy mylotting!

In K-12, no, cell phones are not allowed, but I do know many students who carry them with them because they need them to call their parents to tell them where they are after class. For college, it doesn't matter, but you are asked to turn off or silence your phone in the classroom unless it has a certain app on it that can be used during certain lectures.

My eldest is twelve years old, is in Grade 7, and aYES, he is allowed to bring a cellphone to school but with the following conditions: 1. That it is under silent mode or turned off during class hours and 2. That he may only use it outside their classrooms before or after classes. I deemed it necessary for him to bring a cellphone since this is his first year in a school quite far from our home. Also, his classes start at seven in the morning and ends at five thirty, meaning he might still be on his way home by six, which is late enough for me so I need to be sure he is nowhere unsafe by that time. Parents were required to submit a letter of request to the school indicating the reason why they are allowing their kids to bring cellphones. I also passed one myself. The teachers are very strict in implementing the policy in bringing cellphones in school and they confiscate cellphones ringing during class or when students bring out or use them during classes. I think it's okay as long as the kid is responsible enough to abide by the rules. I call my kid when it's raining hard during dismissal hours to check if he can go home without the need for us to fetch him and he calls me when something out of his schedule comes up, so I won't worry for him.

not necessary, now a days , all students all, carrying cell phone s,to the schools and colleges, provided , they have to follow some instructions, keeping the cell in silent mode, not using it, during classes , and the management or the class teacher , is there, to keep in line, what ever we do , should not exceed our limits.

Cell phones ARE allowed in my old high school and in my current college. In high school we were allowed to use them as a dictionary or to search things related to our school work. If you use it any other way without your teacher's permission your phone is sent to the Dean's office in high school. In college it is at your professor's discretion.

Hi, my kids school allows the use of cellphone at school but with conditions. The school had its rules and regulation to follow by student on the use of cell phones. Like they can only use it in recess, cellphones should not be allowed to be use inside the classrooms. Also it should be on the silent mode during class hours. Violation of these rules leads the school to confiscate the cell phones and that the students will no longer allowed to use cell phones at school unless with written request by the parents.

I think cellphone are allowed in schools or college because most of the student has a cellphone and they can not just leave it to their house or baggage counter for safety and security reason. One of my niece is in grade school and her school allowing the students to bring their cellphone with them but they did not allowed to use the cellphone during the class to avoid any distractions. I also personally allowing my niece to bring her cellphone but I told her not to use it inside the classroom and only can use it during break time. And the reason why I allowed her to bring her cellphone because in time of emergecy I can easy call her and pick up her at school anytime.

In my college, cellphones are allowed. All the students bring cellphones to college. But using cellphones during lectures is not allowed. Other times we are free to use the cellphone.
