Happy Eid mubarik.First of tanks for your discussion. That problem is present in some Islamic countries where many who belong to different societies such as traders, bus conductor as takes the over charging as the name of Eid money.Having a pleasant day..............It is day of sacrifice and remember the other poor people to happy moment...........

Eid Mubarak! This kind of double-charge is not allowed in Canada. It's not right to ASK for a gift, or a tip. These things should be given spontaneously. To ask is in extremely poor taste. I understand that helping the poor with a type of tithing (a percentage of the income) is one of the five pillars of Islam. Surly this tithe goes to help the poor, so it's not necessary for them to play this con game.

Pay double for services just because of festival? I don't think I can ever tolerate that. There is no law that says we should pay double during holidays or festivals so I surely will not pay more than the usual. Some people have the habit of taking advantage but surely I can't ever ever tolerate that.

What kind of cost is there for your EID Festival? Seems to me that bus conductor is making out like a bandit if he's putting the squeeze on all bus riders. Doesn't he get paid a salary for his job? I'm a Christian. We have charities that ask more during the Christian holidays. You may give if you wish or you can ignore their request. It's your choice.

Then why does he need money from your father or any other bus rider to celebrate EID? Did your father get money from others for the celebration?

My Father is business one so ofcourse he don't asks someone to give him money, The conductor asks the money because he said I am so poor.

Hi Tushavi, Eid Mubarak to you also. In this great festival I share your joy and your sad experience. I found in most of the Muslim countries at Ramadan month the traders take high price of food especially for the Iftar items. Ramadan is the month of restrained. But the over profit makers traders take the opportunity of religious festivals.

I have never heard ofhaving to pay a double fare because it is a holiday. I'm sure he is making more pay for working a holiday. The company would be the ones to get the fare anyway, maybe it is a new way for them to make money.

hello tushavi! eid mubarak! we consider today as holiday because we respect our muslim brothers and sisters. we do not get double expenses on holidays here in our country. the fares of the bus and taxis are still the same. maybe that bus conductor is just wanting to take advantage of the holiday. i dont like him for doing that to your father.

Eid Mubarak to you and your family... In my country we don't get charged double during Christmas and New Year season. But I have big expenses as it's also my birthday before New Year's eve. During those season there are Sale in the Malls so there were also many expenses.

It is not right to be forced into anything whatever that occasion might be. If anyone wants to charge extra for any reasons, they should have said so earlier to give the customers to choose if they are agreeable. To all Muslim myLot members, HAPPY EID MUBARAK!

Hi friend, Happy EID to you. usually in festival times we are in need to spend and pay more compared with the normal expenses. The conductor activity is not good, it is really unfair to collect the double charge, Most of the persons using this kind of celebrations to make money
