I was teaching some one "tagalog"

I was really shocked, like all of a sudden she asked me to teach her tagalog. though I asked why? she didn't answer. but my thoughts were it's because she plans on visiting the Philippines and that's why she wants to be prepared. or could it be that she has a new inspiration whom is a filipino too, and the person doesn't speak much english Anyways, it's honor for me to teach her a few. in return she taught a few of her language ()too. Only to realize that the language is pretty much common. I have sent her a site where she can learn how to pronounce it well.

I am also teaching someone to speak Tagalog, and it's my very own husband. I gave him an English-Tagalog dictionary, plus he bought a Rosetta stone software. So far so good, although he wishes I speak more Tagalog around him. :( The reason why I always speak in English around him is that it's easier for us to understand each other whenever we argue, and we always have our harmless "arguments" so...

Hello Raine38, That's good to know that your teaching him tagalog language. besides, both of you can really speak english it's time for him to learn your native language. there are foreigners who learn tagalog because of their wives. well, what ever language you use in those arguments make sure it doesn't end ugly

I could be totally wrong here, but let me just guess... Is the other language Indonesian? Because I think some Indonesian terms are the same as Tagalog. For example, how do you say a desk or table; is it 'meja'?

Hello Sishy, No i don't think it's indonesian, maybe it's kinda similar but not all of it and some has different meaning. it's "lamesa" on how we describe table. besides, we haven't even scratch the surface. so sorry if it's not indonesian, i haven't seen or known an indonesian mylotter asking me to learn tagalog language. have a anice dayadn thank you for guessing.

Hello hsofyan, first time i checked your profile, i have no clue you're from indonesia. let me check, though i think this isn't the one i gave her last night, but i hope this helps. not a referral link. http://tagaloglang.com/Basic-Tagalog/Tagalog-Phrases/learn-basic-tagalog-greetings.html takes time though, heck! took me six years of schooling for such language.

Hi, Been reading and speaking Tagalog language ever since I was just a kid in school but I am not really comfortable with the language, I prefer to speak in my native Visayan and to communicate in official English. I don't know why, maybe I am not really that well-versed in this National Language of ours or is it just a matter of constant usage?

I used to do that to someone whom I met on the net too. She loves BLack eyed Peas that she even requested me to translate "Bebot" in English.

It's amazing that there are a lot of foreigners who would want to learn how to speak Tagalog, Letran. But how come, some of our fellow kababayans whenever they come home from abroad would speak "so slang English" already. And to think that when they left Philippines , they were old enough not to forget Tagalog. Be sure to teach her good and clean words Letran ha?

Hello Simplyd, Because English is usually spoken in other countries like US, Canada and England. it's hard to keep talking in tagalog if the people around you still talks in english. sad though that chinese and koreans were able to retain their natural dialect while we Filipinos tend to forget them. Yes Captain Albert, there is a University in Russia that has the tagalog subject.

there is a University in Russia where students are thought how to speak tagalog, Those are Russians who have no plans tovisit us but they have better Tagalog than most of us. Speaking of Languages, I am currently trying to learn 3 different languages at the same time but I kinda struggle. so I decided to do it one at a time.

Hello Maharlikah, I never knew at some point in my life i would do some teaching, even if it's for a short time. my mom was a retired grade school teacher, both of my brothers used to be professors at their respective schools. I never gone into teaching since i really didn't have the patient to teach. except last night

Hello Sweetloveforever, I wasn't really sure and she didn't answer why she wanted to learn it but i guess she really love the country that she's willing to learn the language. I had fun exchanging knowledge with her with a little added story to boot. Just glad that she started that kind of talk the other because I thought she was mad at me

I think it is really nice for someone to be interested in tagalog. Only a few people nowadays want to learn the language. I hope there will be more people who will be willing to learn this rich language. happy mylotting!
