Do you ever think of a discussion topic and then forget it?

This really annoys me and I can't stand when I forget a topic discussion idea I came up with. It actually just happened to me now. As I was looking through the latest discussion posts, I came up with a few ideas of my own. I thought they were pretty good ideas and I planned on posting them after I finished browsing all the newest discussions. Well of course, when it came time for me to post, I completely forgot what I had planned on typing. I even told myself I should put it down in my phone in case I forgot by the time I got around to posting. But I thought no, I'll be posting the topics soon so I won't forget. I shouldn't have done that because sure enough, I forgot everything lol. Does this ever happen to you?

I've only been on the site for a couple of weeks and yes I have done this a number of times, if I think of something and I'm on the laptop I'm usuall fine as I'll head straight over here and post it right away, its when I'm not on the laptop I'll be doing something like watching TV, eating or out of the house and think of something decent and as soon as I get home my mind goes blank :(

I'm the same way. I've learned that if I'm away from my computer, I have to write my ideas down on my phone. But today, I was even at the computer and forgot my topic lol

Yeah, you can either message yourself or what I do is put it down in the notes app on my phone. I usually do that if I'm away from the computer lol

I've never thouht to just a message in my phone and then look at it later, seems like such an obvious thing to do :)

Hi, I was struck on reading the title of your post and then the content as I have been in this trap for so many times that I cannot number it!I have thought of a good topic to start a discussion on (mostly when I am offline), and even planned what the content will be like, but my bad luck, that when I am here, I would be browsing through discussions started by others and respond to many of them. And by the time I remember that I had thought of starting a topic of my own, it has all left my mind and I am left baffled.I curse my memory for being so flimsy that I forget what I had nicely thought out!

That's exactly what happens to me. If I'm away from the computer and I come up with a discussion idea, I'll plan it all out and pretty much write the whole discussion in my head. But of course as soon as I'm on the computer I forget everything I planned on posting in a discussion lol

Yes, that happens to me often. I'm not good about doing this any more, but I use to have a notebook laying around with topic ideas that I would jotdownduringthe day.

That's probably a good way to do it. After forgetting so many ideas I finally told myself I had to write them down in my phone if I wasn't near a computer. Today I didn't do that because I was actually on the computer...and I still forgot lol.

I have done this many times. Then there are other times when I think I have a good idea for a topic only to decide later that it really isn't a good idea. Some people seem to post on anything and everything all the time and get lots of responses. Some of what I think would be great topics don't get any responses. This holds me back on starting discussions and also contributes to me changing my mind on what I wanted to post.

I try not to think of the number of responses I'll get. IF I did, I'd be a lot more hesitant at posting. I try not to post a bunch of nonsense that nobody cares about, I hate seeing a bunch of random, pointless discussions all from the same person lol. Maybe not most of my posts are really "discussion worthy", but I share anyways, I just try not to clutter things up with tons of posts. If something happens in my life that I think is noteworthy, then I'll share it. Try not to think about how many responses you'll get. When you come up with an idea, just post it and surely someone will respond :)

I don't think about how many responses I will get. I just post on something that was interesting to me. But sometimes, apparently, it doesn't grab other people's interest and I don't get responses. I don't post a lot anyway since I just don't have the time to spend here. It is rare for me to get more than a couple or so responses anyway; so if I was worried about that, I wouldn't post at all.

This is the reason why I have my phone with me all the time. Usually, I'd write the topic or the title I'd want in the note section of my Blackberry. But I know what you mean about forgetting a topic in a matter of minutes. Even before I get the chance to write it on my phone. Usually, there would be a single word that could trigger me remembering the topic. And I would just try an focus on what that word is. Sometimes it works (usually a few hours, or a few days later).

I also use the notes app on my phone and I find that it really helps. But sometimes, the topic will come in and out of my head in a matter of seconds. I didn't think I had to write it down since I was already on myLot. Lol I still forgot though. I think I ended up scrolling through the pages of discussions until I came across the page where I originally thought of the topic I had forgotten. It definitely took me a while but it was one of those things that would've bugged me to no end until I remembered lol

Yes that happens to me quite a few times and sometimes I write down what I want to post about but it gets thrown away to the trash :( and when I ask who did it no one knows! It makes me a little mad but I get over it and write about something else instead until I can remember what it I was going to write about :) But sometimes that's just me in general. I tend to forget!

I forget things too! Most of the time I'll write down my ideas on my phone if I want to make a discussion about it on mylot. Today I didn't and I ended up forgetting my ideas lol

Sure, I've done that plenty of times! LOL I'd come up with something I'd want to discuss, but if I was too busy to get it started or at least write it down I'd usually forget what it was I wanted to talk by the time I found some free time! Fortunately, that doesn't happen to me anymore. But that's mostly because I haven't bothered to start any in months! Happy mylotting!

I would type them in note pad because the idea would mostly come to me when I am around people or watching a movie and I would hate to stop .

It even happens to me when I´m talking to someone face to face. Sometimes I think I will write it down, but then I would have to have pads everywhere I go and mylottting would lose part of its charm. So I just hope that I will remember to post whatever I wanted someday, before it gets to be old.

This happens to me most of the times so when I have something to post I immediately write it or else I will forget about it. It is very helpful to me to write a draft then just paste it after. But sometimes since I am in a hurry I write it directly.

Yes, many times. It would happen when I am traveling or maybe walking, some ideas would come and I would think of using them on Mylot. However many times I do not have either pen or paper to write them down so I will remember them. When I log in to Mylot, pfft...like smoke they disappear. It can be really disappointing.

Well to me personally, it does not happen exactly the same thing as you, however, what happens to me, is very similar. I personally use existing comment threads, write new threads, only when I have clear ideas about a particular topic. It happens to me, even when I'm away from home, or are not connected to Mylot, that I can think of a concept on which to draw a text. Not knowing where to write it down, I try to remember it by memory. The result: At the appropriate time, or when I'm at the keyboard, all in my mind, what I was going to write, all vanishes!

Yup! I think of terrific discussions topics all the time while I'm at work or while I'm dodging traffic on my home from work. By the time I get home after a long tiring day all my wonderful ideas have pretty much flown away. Occasionally I remember a few of them when I actually have time at home to post them.

I happens to me a lot of times. Even if I rarely don't post a lot of discussions here, I still do think of better discussions especially when I am walking or in a transportation when I am alone. Those are the times when I don't have a pen and paper with me or I don't have my phone to write down that discussion. I also don't have too much time to be online here that is why I forget those discussions that comes in mind.

Often times. I had cool topics which I'd love to post but when I'm starting creating new discussion I really forgot what was the topic I would post.
