Trying to Find A Job

I have always had a job since I was 15 years old. Back in March I finished my Funeral Director's internship and they let me go instead of hiring me. It is very hard to get into the business unless you have family or know someone which I have neither. So I figured, hey I'm getting unemployment, I'll just stay home with the kids. Plus I was making more money than I've ever made so I wasn't about to go get some crappy job that didn't pay nothing. Well I hate being home with the kids but now I can't even find a job. I've tried some healthcare related jobs and nothing. I have clerical experience and computer experience but I can't even get a job doing that. I never really thought about what an issue this is with a lot of people today. They are intelligent, ready to work people but yet they can't get a decent job?? WTF! I don't get it at all.

hello angel, nowadays, even you are graduate of a degree its difficult to find job, because most of the company has a qualifications to met. Maybe what you can do is that, try to find out what really you want in life, start up with a small business of yours, go for online job. or whatever you want to do that you can start up with small capital that you can afford.

Hi angelface. It's really true that finding a job nowadays is not that easy. I also experience that thing when I was only looking for a job. But I did not stop until I was able to find the job that I want, that is to work with the government. I work with different private companies before I was able to get my present job. I accepted those previous jobs even I know that the salary was quite low. I think, I have no right to complain or anything, what is important is for me to have a job at that time. But I never stopped looking. Looking for a job requires a lot of patience. Don't give up.

I can understand you absolutly. Before the economical crisis, I never had problems to find a new job. But since it started and got worse, I had to move to another country to look for a job and I am still looking for it. Nothing at all, as here where I am now they want a lot of papers, studies, .... so maybe I will have to study again. But we cannot loose hope and we have to carry on looking for the job I am sure we will find.

Accept the fact that finding a job is also very competitive. In our country Philippines it is really hard to find a job especially in my case as graphic artist due to competitive demands. Of course they will compare your profile to others especially on grounds that you can do. Even the intelligent here or a person who has outstanding background can't even find a work easily. All you need to do is to have patience.

Welcome to a tough economy where the educated are lowered to fighting each other for meager jobs but I am sure things will pick up in the coming months due to some positive economic data(such as Americans paying off more debt and spending less). Where are you searching for these jobs as you might have to expand into areas that might be new to you such as LinkedIn or the new Facebook Jobs(coming soon) and not just the traditional paper and monster.com Never lose faith as you are educated but might not get a great paying job but at least it is a foot in the door.
