this question has haunted my friend for a long time. She has ever dreamed to study abroad, but she gave up for economic reason.Even though the economic problem still here, she said she can't wait anymore. And the job she has now is not bad, also not good. So now the biggest trouble in front of her is age.She thinks she is at a embarrassed middle age. Is it a good choice to quit job at your middle age? How do you think?

hello susznhl. My friend , this is really a hard situation for your friend ( may be your friend name also start with S :D )because she still have economic problem and other side her dream. if she drop her dream now or postponed for some time than this is also true that she cant in future because she is already in middle age. but you told she is working now and that job is just Ok, not bad and not good. If her family also dependent on her income then its really hard for her to quiet job. Main factor who is against to quiet her job is her middle age because now for her very hard to start new inning of life but its also true that human get only 1 time life and don't have other breath for our dreams. I think what kind of job is she doing is important. If she is doing any IT Sector job , management, marketing or other any type, she has to take admission in any short period (like 6 month to 1 year) certificate course in abroad related to her current job. so she can get advantage in current job also and can study also in abroad. So when she will complete her Course then because of her course and working experience she can get easily same type job with higher salary .

Hi,rkbazad thank u very much~it's really a long reply she usually confide to me about her confusion, but I can't give her any useful addvise. And what she worried about makes myself confused and upset too.So we both lose our directions. we are reporters in a magazine office, not IT,not Management.Sometimes,we feel that our career paths get more and more narrow. That's why we need change, but don't know how.

Hi susanzhl, i always write for make proper and correct discussion, i am a engineer and pursing m.tech, i love mylot because of here i can meet with nice and good people like you :) Sorry for long reply but my reply always long because i describe all things :) But you are telling that you are reporters in a magazine office then its really great if you want to change then you can go in journalism , I don't know in which type magazine you are working but you can switch to any news paper or news channel. there need many reporter and there have all section like movies , modeling , technology, sports, career, house works and all type , so you can a diploma in journalism who is related about your field and can apply for any news channel of news paper. You will get easily job in related section where now you are working for your magazine. Sorry for again long reply :)

For me it is not a big issue if you want to transfer to another company or change a career path during middle age. It is about finding that opportunity that will allow you to grow even more career wise and hopefully make you stay until retirement. It's all about finding that solid ground. And one is never too old to study too, especially if the course she wishes to pursue will be beneficial for her career.
