Song from Thumbelina (cartoon movie)

There are two particular songs that I love from this animated movie. One is the "Let me be your wings" which is the song that Thumbelina sings with the Fairy Prince when they first meet and fall in love. Beautiful lyrics, I must admit. But, the song I wanted to discuss here tonight is entitled "Soon".. and the song is so beautifully sang and written that I must post the lyrics here lol.

If you haven't heard this song, you must! Go to youtube and type in "Soon Thumbelina".. her voice is simply astounding and this song will amaze you if not touch your heart =)

I've never seen Thumbelina and I'm not familiar with the song that you are talking about. However, just from reading the lyrics that you've shared here, I already know that the song will be a beautiful song.
In addition to that, the lyrics of the song are definitely song lyrics that are very, very quotable. I can see myself using those lyrics for a scrapbook page for my children.

Wow!! It is a must see!! It is on youtube in a few segments, the full movie! However, it is not on Netflix... if you haven't seen the movie.. just go to youtube and search "Soon-Thumbelina" or "Let me be your wings-Thumbelina".. I guarantee it will intrigue you to see the entire movie!! Wonderful fairytale with such a happy ending! Sometimes, I wonder whether I have all of these animation studios to blame for the high pedestal that I place love and being in love on... lol

I adored this movie as a kid, and I *ahem* still do. (Shush! Don't tell anyone! I hide it behind the Disney Fairy and Barbie movies!) And this was always my favorite song from the movie. Did you know that the voice actress is Jodi Benson, the same woman who did the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid? (I hide that one in my super-secret supposedly grown women shouldn't have it collection too)

Yea you're right it is Jodi Benson!! I misquoted in my previous comment to another Mylot user and I sincerely apologize for that.. there are a handful of them that represent the animated singer voices. But, it is a beautttifullll song.. touched my heart so much that I randomly go to youtube just to listen to it sometimes!!

I remember this movie because the same actress who played Ariel in Disney's "The Little Mermaid" played Thumbelina.
I thought the film was good, but it wouldn't go down as my favorite. It had some great songs, and yes, it had a great story, but it doesn't hold a candle to some of the other fairy tales that I love.

I think Judy Kuhn, which it the broadway singer/actress covers for Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina and Pocahontas.. she really is talented..
Thumbelina is a classic, in my opinion, and very underrated... something similar to Rock A Doodle Doo!
