Hello vidhyaprakash_2, we all are behind the cellular phone we no longer want to use the landline phones. But I can't avoid them. Because my internet connection is linked with it and it is little more cheaper. So I am planning to buy a wireless telephone for my landline connection .

Interesting thoughts. My husband and I each have a cellphone, and we have a home phone that we use mostly for long distance, and to give to businesses etc. so they're not calling our private cellphones. We also have a VOIP phone with an American number that hooks up to the computer, so that our American family can call us here in Canada, and anywhere else in the world without spending a lot of money.

Although today the cellphones are very common and almost everybody will have one. However, I still think the home phone is important, too. In fact my ADSL connection needs to have a home phone line. And I prefer others to call me to my home phone at first because it will not charge me. If I pick up a call from my cellphone, it will start to charge me. I love China

in my home there is no landline phone because its useless to have one. first, am out of the house most of the time. second, i can be reached anytime through my cellphone. but in my mom's place, she has her landline phone. she says cellphone is difficult to manage because it gets misplaced almost always. while landline phone stays in one place hence very easy for her to just go near it and answer. also, she said its not difficult to hold. ann

We do still have our landline at my mom's home... when I am in the office, it's more convenient for me to call by landline because it's free :D though we still pay monthly phone bills for that, but it is still a big use to us. but we do also have mobile phones individually. but we still find it useful to have a landline at home. ;)

I do have a landline phone but I do not use it. I had the line installed purely for the internet, and even if I am sat near the telephone I will use my mobile to make a call. This is just a matter of preference because I am not bound to a small area while using the mobile. I still receive the odd telephone call from people on my landline, although I would prefer them to call my mobile instead.

I remember when i was child, my mom would always tell me to make sure that I memorize our telephone number so that whenever i get lost i can use payphones around to contact them. But todays generation has changed, little kids would already those very expensive phones. Same phones that businessman are using. But somehow, home telephones are still useful so that we can call other home telephones for free, because of course when you're using your mobile phone you will be charged. Also telephones doesnt get choppy and doesnt need got network coverage unlike mobile phones.

I still have and use a home phone. I have it because I do not always want to talk on my cell phone. I do not see anything wrong with still using a home phone, people have to understand not everyone especially the elderly people is want to have a cell phone. Most of my family also have home phones and cell phones. My cell phone is mainly used to text and for my mom to get in contact with me if I am not at home.

Yes, I have a landline connection as my home telephone. But I use it very rarely. We all used to talk in our mobile phones, still I use them if I need to have a long talk with my friends. Because there may not be much balance in my mobile phone .

I don't because every of my families has a cell phone. There is no need for us to install a residential phone. A cell phone is more convenient than a residential phone, isn't it?

I have a land line connection at my residence, I am using it mainly for broadband connect. Though occasionally use it to make or receive calls. WIFI in India is very costly and can't be afford by every individual hence most of us here at there residence use Broadband connections, for which a telephone line is must.

I still have a "landline" and will probably continue to have one as long and the roommate needs it for work. We also all have cell phones, but only mine is in "normal" use, the others keep them more for emergencies.

It has been 7 years that I do not have home phone. I use to have a home telephon on our previous residence but i have transferred already and our new address has no existing lines yet for a telephone. I did have a wireless telephone installed few years back. It's wireless but it's works like a phone and is charge the same like a normal telephone. Unfortunately, most of the time, I cannot get through with my calls and dial tone is always absent when there is a bad weather. So decided to have it cut. Now, all I have is a mobile phone, but I have no worries at all... It works or me well enough to survive and go through with life even without a telephone.

Since we are at home most of the time we use a landline phone. It's cheap and with the speaker easy to use. Old folks like old things.

Hi I used to have the home telephone and yes I still remember the number. It is so fast technology that cell phones did not take much time to take over telephones. I am just excited for the new things to come in the future. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
