Thousands of people believe in superstitions although a lot of people think of them as nonsense and not based on reason. There are two types of superstition. Good Luck superstitions and bad luck superstitions. Tell me, what's on your mind?

My father and ancestors believe on these things. But for me it's not really something. But my father would always tell me to just follow them since I will not lose anything just by following or believeing with superstitions. Superstitions are passed by generation by generations. So I think it has already become a part of our life though not for all. I believe in god's intervention and not with superstition. I believe that God leads us to the right path and not that superstition and belief thingy.

Agree! According to what I have read, superstitions are never based on logical reasoning and often are irrational.

I don't believe in them. I am the creator of my destiny. I find it funny how some people freak out if they see a black cat crossing their paths. So, what? That doesn't mean something bad is going to happen to you, the cat decided to walk past them. And my favorite of all time, breaking a mirror will bring you seven years of misfortune..... Are they kidding? I broke so many of them, and I have a decent amount of money in my bank account and I am healthy.

Sometimes I do believe sometimes I don't. Mostly depends upon the situation. Like for example: My mom believes that you should never build an extension of your house because you will loose money, so we didnt build an extension but still we lost the money . So now I don't believe that building an extension of your house will make you loose money. Look at us we didn't built that extension but still our cash was lost.

Here in the Philippines there are so many superstitions because that are based from our ancestors. We just inherit those things. But for me believing sometimes are just good, nothing lost if we sometimes believe on superstitions.

I don't believe. It is only a matter on how we do things and our faith. If we believe on superstitions, we are just rationalizing things that controls us to do or not to do so.

Recently I shifted my perspective to logic, reason and science more than plain beliefs and mysticism. This is just my personal stance, but I do respect those who still believe in superstitions. They are already embedded deeply in the culture which makes it difficult to be totally ignored. After all, they are part of our cultural heritage, but we should not let these beliefs shadow our sense of reason.
