Is is good to always eat healthy?Of course it is!But,what about our craves that we suddenly have to stop in our pursuit of eating healthy,in our pursuit of living a long, healthy life.It has occurred to me to dream of eating pizza, feeling the taste, the smell, and then wake up in such a hunger for pizza. It was on my first days of dieting. Is it better to allow "cheat days" in our diet?Days that you forget all about nutrition, days that you feel "free"? I have had some cheat days, and I noticed that the need for these days dramatically decrease after weeks of healthy eating. What about you,MyLotters?Do you consider cheat days to be important in one's diet?At what frequency do you allow them?

Eating healthy can be done in many ways. I myself enjoy veggie pizza more than any other. I can always find a fruit or vegetable to have at breakfast (apples in oatmeal/veggies in an omelet). Eating healthy most of the time can be done even when you have food that may have you think you are cheating. Sometimes there are healthier ways to cook to make a food healthier. My vices are potato chips/french fries and milk chocolate. Milk chocolate is questionable, but potato chips and fries can be made to be healthier. I would say that I eat potato chips/french fries at least once a week, and milk chocolate monthly. Cheating is not always bad as long as you are eating healthy regularly.

Yes.Chips and French fries seem to be the food trap for me.When I see them,I don't necessarily feel the urge to eat them, but I wouldn't mind. I have made many times healthy pizza, with special foods, not using flour and so on.I think this is good,we get to still eat what we want, but we do it in a much healthier way.

Many people who are on diet having challenges and cravings like yours. It really need a lot of determination to carry on. Sometimes, they do give in but a little just to satisfy the craving and move on. I wish you all the best, and with determination and focussing the final objective, you may achieve your goal. Stay healthy and stay happy

Thanks for your motivation.I can feel myself getting stronger reading motivations like yours. Determination is indeed to key,not only to eat and stay healthy, but for everything else.Fortunately, motivation can be build, and if built correctly,no one can destroy it.But it takes a lot of time.Which is not quite a problem.

Healthy Salad! - Make your own healthy food at home don't trust those served in restaurant.
Well as far as I am concerned, I've been able to brainwashed my own self to eat healthy all the time so that those unhealthy food that I used to enjoy don't entice me at all and won't even touch them even if served to me. Pizza is one of the unhealthiest foods in the world but I still do eat pizza but I make my own and I make sure everything in eat is healthy. I think there is always a way of satisfying our cravings without sacrificing our health.

You're right!I taught myself to have a bad reaction when I see unhealthy foods. It's like I do not want to be near them.Sometimes, when I am full, cakes and pizza disgust me.I think this is a fair enough reaction. Yes,I tend to make my own food.I do not want to depend upon foods that have uncertain ingredients or concentrations.

Of course that is always good to eat healthy than eating junks all the time. but, we must admit that we do crave for junks sometimes. Taking small amount of junk will not harm if taken in moderation. Everything "too much" is always bad.

I agree with you.Everything that is too much will do harm to us. I find it easier and easier to resist eating junk food.It was pretty hard in the beginning, but now I can say that I am a "free" man.Of course,I can eat junk food, but I don't feel a need,an urge,a crave,at least not as big as in the past.

don't think healthy food is not delicious, my friend. it just how we make it. you can eat a healthy food with delicious taste, of course if you wanna cheap healthy food, you must cook it by yourself.

In my plan of living right,I listened to what Jack Lalanne once said:"If it tastes good, spit it out!"And followed his advice. Now I realize it doesn't quite work that way.Of course,it's a great rule of thumb, but I am starting to come across healthy food that tastes astonishingly.Way more better than fast-food.And,of course, homemade food is a charm!

If we watch it from a strictly biological view, of course it is. But mentally, especially if the certain person loves junk food, it is almost compulsory to put in some cheat days, because on the long run they could become depressed or uncontent or sad if they don't eat what they desire, and in some cases, that could effect health, too.

You are right! The mental can do some weird things. We have to tank our mind for being with us.I view it sometimes as a sacrifice to a god.:)) Well, not quite.Looks like I am starting to get used with less and less cheat days, but I don't plan to eliminate them from my diet.

I can't live without cheat days of eating. Having cheat days is even healthy for the body ya know. It's hard to let cravings pass as it may return in ugly forms.

Of course.I have experienced some craves, but I can live good with just a single cheat day per month. The thing is,when I know that that day is getting closer and closer,my crave gets bigger and sometimes quite out of hand.It happened to me to have the cheat day earlier because I couldn't help myself.

Hi friend, healthy diet is good for us, but most of us are interested in junk and fast foods which is not good for our health, there is nothing wrong in taking them once in a while, but too much of cheat days will spoil our health and life, so we must avoid cheat days and take good food for us

i think almost everyone of us know that healthy dieat is good and if you can insist on it,you are likely live longer.but most of us(include me of coourse)cannt resist the temptation of the junk food. there is no need for blame yourself if you eat junk food sometimes,we are human and we want to eat deliciuos food.that right. but if someone have health problems,he must listen to the doctor and make sure never eat things that are not permited

While it is better to always eat healthy foods, it might not always be possible. Everyone gets tempted to eat foods that might not be very healthy; nobody is perfect. By human nature, we indulge in our food cravings. Because everyone is different, we each try to justify our actions for engaging our cheat days, which means everyone's frequency of cheat days cannot be standardized to one estimate. For me, I have my share of cheat days; I try to justify my actions of eating non-healthy foods by exercising on a regular basis. Regardless of what your reason for justifying your cravings, you just need to compensate later for cravings.
