In undoubtedly the best game of the weekend, Liverpool and Man City played out an exciting 2-2 draw at Anfield. If this was any indication of Liverpool's ambition then teams would be afraid to come to Anfield again. Liverpool was really dominant after a first 20 minutes of the game. They opened the scoring through Martin Skrtel. A defensive error in the second half was capitalized by Yaya Toure who equalized. Then Suarez took a fantastic free kick to put Liverpool again on top. But a howler of a back pass by Skrtel gifted Tevez with the equalizer. But despite this the Anfield faithfuls would take a lot of heart from this performance of Liverpool. Cheers! Ram

I didn't watch the game fully. But I watch all the goals from the highlight. Indeed Suarez free kick could be one of goals of the season. And Tevez is good for not throwing chances given freely by Skrtel. Good games for both teams. Would like to see The Reds rise again. And the fall of Mancini City

:) The chance that Tevez got was more difficult to miss than score. :) If a striker at the top level misses this kind of an opportunity, he will soon be on the bench. Yes, adhyz it was a horrible blunder and Skrtel's reaction showed how much he wanted to bury himself in the ground at that moment!! Cheers! Ram

Martin Skrtel scored one goal and gifted one to Ma - Martin Skrtel scored one goal and gifted one to Manchester City.
That was the best performance from Liverpool for a long time. It was a different Liverpool from the West Brom game. They played with purpose and kept pressing the Manchester City players. Their passing was quite good but their shoots on goal although were impressive with 17 shoots, the shoots on target were just three times. The Liverpool defenders did well to restrict the fearsome Manchester City forwards to have just three shoots on target in 11 attempts. Liverpool was unlucky not to win but they could have lost the game towards the end of the match after Manchester City had equalized. I am impressed by Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers has done his work.

And this begs the question that all Anfield fans are asking, why can't they be consistent. When they can hammer a strong Man City team like this, what happens to them when they face the likes of West Brom!! Completely inexplicable. Cheers! Ram

All I can say is Wow! I guess Liverpool is in better shape than I thought. Or was it Man City taking Liverpool too lightly?

No, this is exactly what I was mentioning in the other discussion. Liverpool has a habit of playing well against big teams. So this was more proof of the same. Cheers! Ram

that`s the game in the weekend.. Martin Skrtel become a hero when he open the scores with his powerful header.. but his horrible backpass make Manchester city can bring 1 point from Anfield.. so Liverpool fans must worry..they only get 1 point from 2 matches.. It is no good for the ambition of Liverpool management.. Brendan Rodgers must evaluate the new style of Liverpool..

That is why Sport is such a great Leveller. Skrtel was the hero of the day and was feeling on top, but a moment of stupidity and he was back to a zero by the end of the day. But it was a fantastic game. Cheers! Ram

i know the feeling of Martin Skrtel.. he becomes hero before he become the zero.. it happens to me too my friend.. we have a tournament in our senior high school alumna.. iam 99 alumane.. you know, my team is not favourite... but with some my friend effort and me too, we can reach semifinal.. some of my friend said iam one of the hero..i can save the best chance from our opponent in the nearly end of the game(it happens in quarter final).. but when in the third and fourth winner, our team and opponent must play penalty shoot-out i become the last kicker..and iam not succesfully scoring it..and it makes me regret because wasting the chance...

I haven't seen the game, but I am glad that Liverpool fans have had a performance which can be proud of. So you say City has scored only thanks to two capital mistakes from Liverpool defense? It means that tactically Liverpool was much better than City. Who is the current coach from Liverpool? Because I am not really following the events lately, as I don't have so much time to follow every championship.

Man City was in the match for the first two minutes and the two moments when Liverpool made mistake and they scored. Apart from that Liverpool dominated the match. They could have had a couple of more goals as well. The currently coach of Liverpool is Brendan Rodgers who is known for playing the free flowing game like that of Arsenal. Last year he was the coach of Swansea which undoubtedly was the best promoted team of last year in EPL. Cheers! Ram

I was actually expecting to see Nuri Sahin play against Man City. But he did not step on the field. Cheers! Ram

Thanks for the valuable information. If he plays a passing football, then the acquisition of Sahin will help Liverpool a lot. It will be interesting to see the development, with the passing of the time Liverpool will be an entertaining team, I believe.

As I said earlier, this game will run draws and interesting how both teams reached a different result in the first match could spend his best. And I think this is an interesting game in the second match of EPL. Twice Twice Liverpool ahead also managed overtaken them and is very stressful. Liverpool can win if Skrtel does not make mistakes. But in spite of everything, this is an appropriate result for both teams.

What is even more interesting is that last year, Man City twice took the lead and Liverpool equalized. So this is payback time from last year. Cheers! Ram

I do not catch the game on tv however according to reports, apparently Liverpool gifted two goals to Man City. If that is the case, then it is certainly two points dropped for the Reds. However, unlike last season, Man City did not start the season in swirl wind fashion. Either it is because teams are putting in more effort when facing the champions or it could be because of the saying, winning the title is hard, retaining it is even harder. In any case, I expect Man City to kick into gear soon and start hammering the oppositions.

Yes, both goals came of mistakes from Liverpool defensive unit. The second one was particularly painful to Liverpools Player of the year last year Martin Skrtel. It was a perfect through pass to Tevez with no other player other than Reina to beat. :) Cheers! Ram
