Does anyone else get sick from drinking too much water?

I know we have to drink like eight cups a day but when I try to chug it to catch up, I get sick. I can't remember to drink it often. What can I do to remind myself or get les sick?

not me because i never drink too much, around 1 litter a day only...

Ideally, 8 glasses a day is recommended, but I am pretty sure not everybody is able to do that. But if you really want to achieve those number of glasses of water in a day, try substituting your cola or juice for a glass of water instead. Take a glassful of water every now and then. This doesn't just quench your thirst, but it also helps you eliminate toxins through your sweat and by urinating a lot.

Yes, I get that sometimes. The type of water, whether or not it is distilled or from tap water may also play a factor.

I will change the type of water to see if that is it. i usually drink filtered water from the tap. I like bottled water but not seltzer type water. I will try to try the flavored water to help my stomach. im taking all suggestions, thank you.

Drink more water but clean then health will be good but if jerms in water then health problem may arise. Sickness may arise because not all disease are removed from water.

I love drinking water but my wife does not like it at all. She uses the crystal lite powder drink mixes in her water so she as some flavor but still gets he recommended water every day.

It makes sense that you'd feel sick. You're not actually supposed to "chug it up" in one fell swoop. You're meant to spread it out through the day. Experts have even said part of your 8 glasses can also come from say juice, herbal tea and even some fruit and veg.

I don't get sick from drinking too much water, however, after drinking so much, I suddenly have this taste in my mouth, which doesn't want me to drink any more of it. Maybe its my body's way of saying, STOP!!! by discouraging the taste of it.

It is not advice to drink a huge load of water in one go. It as advice that we sip water through out the day. When you sip water, it would aid in digestion because the base of the stomach would be wetter so it's easier to digest. If you drink lots of water in one go then it would just pass through the stomach and help just a little bit. That's why sometimes as you have noticed, you want to go to the bathroom immediately after drinking or just a few minutes after drinking. My advice is fill a one liter tumbler and keep it with you in your office, school or house. Sip every now and then. You can refill it through out the day also.

8 cup is not sufficient 8 glass may be sufficient. Too much water or salt is not good for body but at least 6 to 8 glass in single day is not bad.

I never find it difficult to drink lots of water and you won't believe me I drink 2-3 glass of water every hour but I never remember myself getting sick because of that.............I don't know where you live but I live in India and it's quite hot here maybe that is the reason but still I drink too much water compared to my family members but I do workout a lot and play cricket a lot.

Hi friend, drinking water is good for our health and we can drink as much as we can, water is having a lot of health benefits, every day i drink around 5 to 6 liters of water and don't have any issues with it

In a day we are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water. In general I drink 6 to 7 glasses of water daily. Drinking excessive water is little tough, but I didn't had much problem on doing so. To keep the balance, I consume 1 or 2 glass of fruit juice daily. :D

we must drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to make us hydrated so that our internal system can perform well in there duty. but in your case drinking a lot of water a day makes you sick? maybe try to ask your doctor or consult a nutritionist, so that they will evaluate your condition, giving you vitamins in order to prevent to becoming sick, and giving you advice to what foods or substitute aside from water to get less sick. my advice is at least drink water as often....ok!

yeah i never feel sick except drinking the dirty water.but i do hear that some people get sick just coz drinking too much water.it seems called water intoxication.the reason for that just coz there is not enough salt.so it is much healthy and safe to drinking saline after you have plenty of exercise
