I think that there was a reason why Mourinho wanted Modric so much, and therefore Modric will be a regular first team player. With this transfer I am sure that Kaka will leave, because there is no chance for him to play anymore. And Ozil will have pressure on him, as Modric can play the same position with him.

Not really. They are much too similar, but maybe Mourinho will find a way to have them both playing at the same time.

I think that Modric is an excellent player and last season at spurs he was excellent but he didnt want to stay there so asked for a transfer. I think that for real madrid he will add an a good attacking option for there forwards and he will definatly get goals.

That's true Madrid do have a winning mentality and that's why there are one of the best teams in the world but I think that modric is a top class player who will adapt well and should be able to fit into Spanish football.

I am not sure what Real is upto. On the one hand they are asking Kaka to leave, then they loan out youngster Nuri Sahin to Liverpool. Then they go ahead and pay 33 million pounds for Luca Modric. I am not sure what the thinking is there. I think this is another point where instead of working with a youngster in Sahin, Mourinho prefers to invest in an already mature player. But I am not sure that Modric would be able to really succeed at Real Madrid or he could just become a fringe player like Kaka!!
For Tottenham though this is top business, getting 33 million for a disgruntled player is good money!!
Cheers!

Modric is a great player, and we know the philosophy of Real Madrid: If something is not working, they will throw money on the window and they will buy a new player. If Modric will adapt quickly, he will be an asset, if not, he will be another failed transfer. Bayern is also doing similar things, although they trust many youngsters also, which come from the youth academy, thing which Real doesn't really do.
The only way to stop this huge transfers is the Financial Fair Play and only the teams which produce money will be able to afford expensive players, but I guess the prices will drop significantly, which would be more normal.

@adhyz: Do you think that 33 million pounds for a single player is a normal price? I believe it is a huge amount of money. Especially because Real is full of debt and they should work on making the deficits lower, not to increase it.

Rather disagree with this transfer. Still prefer Kaka-Ozil duet rather than Modric-Ozil. Well then, it would really be mean good bye to Kaka.
Problem is, no clubs seem to have a bold action to take Kaka. Maybe the price tag of him, or the salary. But in another news, it was said that Kaka's wife told that they had a chance for getting back to Sao Paolo.
Well, hope the best for Kaka ...

kaka is never developed in Madrid because of Ronaldo factor..
it is true when Kaka is hardy for adapting with style of playing Ronaldo..
We should wait until 31 August what`s happen with Kaka..
If Milan really loves Kaka, they will do anything for getting back kaka..

I am quite relieved to hear this news because the process is a long and complicated process is almost drowned, but eventually even this great player to come to Madrid to defend real Madrid. I agree with you seems kaka or be expelled from the Lass Santiago Bernabeu. For the position of the starting eleven position seems Modric will alternate with Sami Khedira.

i think Spurs and Madrid now have much time for arranging their team..
the process transfer is very complicated and of course takes many energy and concentration..
Madrid needs another player for playing against Barcelona in the second leg of Spanish super cup...And they needs Luca Modric..
Spurs needs much money for getting Hugo Lloris..
the benefit coorporation among of them...

Yes I agree with you my friend, now Spurs and Madrid can concentrate more on managing the team competition. Because as we know Luca Modric transfer to Madrid is very long and complicated.
