We Rescued Her...

You would not believe what these dogs and puppies were living in. Oh my goodness! There was garbage everywhere, they were all outside in 100+ degree weather, they all shared one bowl of food with 12 dogs eating it, there were pans of oil all over the place, dogs tied up everywhere, grass at least 2 feet tall, broken appliances all over, dirty water, etc...This place was a DUMP! It was nothing but a junk yard, not a place for any dog or puppy. We rescued a puppy from there. We had to get it out of that place. After sweetie pie there is only one puppy left and I hope someone gets it. Our puppy is healthy (I have NO idea how with what she was living in) but all she had were fleas which were taken care of yesterday. She got her shots today and she is doing great thank God! We called animal control today and I am praying they do something to get those animals out of that environment!! They breed their dogs all the time to make more money off puppies! So wrong. For one that place is not right for animals but for two animal shelters are FULL of unwanted dogs, why bring MORE into this world??? How in the world are people sleeping at night doing this to animals? Have you rescued a puppy from a bad place?

You know LMB, I wish sometimes they would do to these people, what the people do to these poor helpless animals. It's so appalling and they get a little fine and a slap on the hand. Not fair, not fair at all. I wish the animals could speak. Wishing you the best with your puppy..is that her name?..SweetiePie? How cute if it is. Yes, she will be a great dog and she will remember you rescued her. Dogs are smarter than people and only want your love and affection. People like this have no souls..they sleep fine, just like vampires.

I just absolutely love her!!!!! She's beautiful and her name fits her perfectly! I'm very happy you and your family have adopted her..she will love you forever. I wish I lived closer so I could come over and give her a big hug...and take a whiff of that wonderful scent only little puppies have. I know you ALL will be happy with this little sweetie pie!

I totally agree kashmeresmycat. You would have wanted to beat the crap out of these people because I wanted to badly!! I could not believe they were all alive after seeing what they were living in! Yes her name is Sweetie Pie. =) My youngest daughter named her that, lol. I hope she will be a great dog. I am going to put a picture of her on my profile in a little while if you want to see her!

Its sad but its what most animals have to be suffering these days , their master beating them , leaving them in the storm , not feeding them . Dogs are not popular for selling in my country so most people would just throw the puppies away in rivers bush etc . It is real hurtful to see how wicked human can really be .

hi silverfox here in the U S most of us prize our dogs and cat s and take very good care of them but like anywhere else there are some mean worthless people who will hurt animals for no reason at all'and its painful to see them do that,I often wonder what m akes such wicked people tick why?

Silverfox Actually most people I have seen take good care of their pets, it is the few that don't that ticks me off! Here, most of the time it is the breeders that don't care about the dogs at all and they treat them really bad.

Our two dogs were from totally different environments. Zoe was caught as a stray that someone dumped out in the country, but she has good people behavior so she wasn't a feral born puppy. Cujo was born at the roomie's folks, when the rest of the puppies were given away, the roomie's niece asked to keep him - then NEVER came to see him. When he was about 5, the 2 big dogs the roomie's folks had kept beating him up and her dad said he was going to take him to the pound. Well, this poor dog never asked to be kept back when he was a cute puppy, the bi... girl who wanted them to keep him never cared about him after he got grown. I knew he'd probably be hard pressed to find a new home so I said I'd take him, that was in 2005. I can't say I really ever wanted a dog, but he's a well behaved little fellow. The cats, on the other hand, have far more interesting stories.

Well, lets see... last puppy in my life was when I was a child and my folks got one. Zoe was 10 months old when the roomie got her. I like cats better than kittens, good thing, because they are cute kittens for a few months and big cats for YEARS.

It is so sad that people can be so cruel to animals like this. That's horrible when people just drop animals off where ever they feel like it! I hate when people only want puppies than don't want to take care of them anymore when they get older. =( I actually like dogs better, not a huge fan of puppies but I know most people are the opposite. I took her to get her out of there, I could not leave her there. I don't like the house training and all of the chewing that puppies do, so much work! But I will have to teach her and hopefully she will be a quick learner!

I have not....I don't have a pet and won't again...but you have a very lucky puppy. My daughter and her family have a rescued dog and she is such a sweetie...she had been abused..now she is in a loving home and what a wonderful pet she turned out to be!

Yeah, she is lucky. I am so glad she survived and that we could rescue her. =) I am not sure if she would have made it for too much longer being there. I hope Sweetie Pie turns out to be a great pet too.

that is horrible. i hate when people cant take care of their animals. im glad you took one in. i have a few rescue animals, most recently i hit a cat with my car (luckly she was unharmed) i brought her to the house that was there and the people who answered the door said "oh that thing? its a stray. we have been hoping that it would get hit by a car so the f****** thing would die and be gone" so i took her home she was skinny and covered in fleas, she is now happy and healthy (and going to have kittens) :/ not sure how i feel about the kittens but it is what it is and i will find them good homes when the time comes

It was absolutely horrible, something from a horror movie! I never thought I would see something like that in person. =( That is awful that they said such mean things about the cat! I am so glad you took her so she could have a healthy and normal life. No animal deserves such cruelty!!

Good for you doing this for the puppies and the animals. I hate t see any kinds of animals living in such harsh conditions, there has to be a stop to this in every country and not just the USA. I hope that the animal control can do something as well. How close is this place to where you live? Could you check on them every so often after this? Dog breeders do exist and I know what you mean about so many dogs being in shelters and this stuff does go on anyways due to someone wanting a specific breed, it is heart breaking. To know that animals are treated even worse in other countries is also atrocious, I hope one day that they are all treated better. It just makes me sick that so called human beings mistreat a animals that would or might someday even save your life if need be. they are so loyal and will only require food, shelter, attention, love and some health care.

I cannot stand to see so many animals suffering like that! I have never seen anything like it, it was horrible!! The place was about an hour away which I really can't check on them because I don't have the gas to do it. A friend took me out there to begin with. I do not like breeders, they only care about the money. They don't care that there are already too many animals in this world with not enough good people to take care of them! It makes me sick too. I hope the other animals are rescued from there soon!

It makes me sick and angry just thinking about it. Thank you for rescuing the puppy. That was such a lovely thing to do. I have rescued 4 dogs now and also my 2 goats. The first one I agreed to take because the owners were going to kill him if I didn't take him. He was a baby and I just had to save him. Each of my babies has their own story. I will never understand how people can act violently towards each other and I am stupefied how they can hurt or neglect defenceless animals who are totally dependent on their owners for life.

Yeah it was the worst thing I ever imagined. I never expected what we walked in to. It blew my mind. How could people be that hateful? There were tons of dogs and puppies living in trash!! I was angry. Very angry. I am so glad we could rescue her though. Sweetie pie is happy and healthy now which I am so grateful for! =) Thats good that you were able to help and rescue them too. It is such a good feeling giving animals a good home, especially when they have such a bad life.

I dont like when people breed animals either especially if they arent taking care of them properly. These people should not be allowed to have animals at all with them leaving there animals to live that way. I am glad you now have one of the dogs its in much better hands I'm sure. I hope for an update to find out what happened after you turned these people in.

Yeah, breeders are most of the reason why there are so many unwanted animals in shelters right now! It is horrible. These people only cared about the money, you could tell. They are so mean to these poor things. Yes she is happy and healthy, getting all of the care she needs and tons of love! Between my husband and I and our kids, she is spoiled with love and affection.

Oh wow Loving, that is great that you rescued this puppy..Is this a neighbor of yours? Why are not all the dogs taken out of there? It sounds like animal control needs to put some pressure on and not allow these people to have dogs..

Yeah I am so glad we could rescue one of them at least. Wish we could have gotten them all out of there. But we don't have the money for all of that. No it's not our neighbor, a friend of ours got one of the puppies and told us there were more of them so I went with him to look at them and that's where I saw my sweetie pie! I hope animal control will rescue them all but they are not the greatest here, they don't always do their job...

What kind of dog is it? The scene looked like Animal Planet's Animal Cops. Somehow, there are lots of people like her across this nation. Is this a farm setting? Also, is she like a hoarder?

She is a pitbull. Yeah it was seriously bad. It was a couple that we got her from. They were not just hoarders, it was much worse than that. It seriously looked like a junk yard! It was the most horrible thing I have ever seen!!

oh my! Poor puppies! It's a good thing you have such a kind heart to help out these puppies. I have not rescued a puppy from a terrible environment. But we do have a dog at home and we treat him as part of the family. I speak with my dog! hahaha! I am not really an animal lover but with the dogs that my family had over the years, I try to give love and affection, too.

Aww, that really is awful. I'm always a sucker for animals, especially when I see them in bad situations. I'm glad you were able to rescue a puppy and that she's healthy! So far, I've never had a dog from a pet store, we've always rescued them somehow. My mom got my first dog before I was born. She found him as a little puppy at the school she taught at and she brought him back to the owners. Well the kids in her class kept finding the puppy and he kept getting out of the yard. The school was near a busy road and she worried that the puppy wouldn't always be so lucky, so she took him home with her and he lived happily with us for 16 years. We got my other dog from an organization called "Pets in Distress" and they would be in the supermarket parking lot on weekends and you could adopt a dog or puppy. My mom and I would always stop and one day we stopped like usual and my mom gave me the whole spiel "we're not going to get one we're just going to look". I knew the drill and I didn't expect a dog. Well, my mom fell in love with a puppy and we ended up bringing her home. Our latest dog was given to us by police officers who found her and didn't want to bring her to the pound. I think it's better to adopt a dog and give it a second chance rather than buying from a pet store.

It was absolutely the worst thing I have ever seen! I was so happy to be able to get her out of there, I really wish I could have rescued all of them but that was just not possible. Aw that is so cool that she took care of the puppy that she found at the school. I wish there were more people that would give animals good homes. I am the same way, I said before I went to see Sweetie Pie that I was not going to get one because their so much work and so messy. Lol. When we got there and I saw her though my heart melted. She was so cute and so sweet! When I saw how they were living I had to rescue one! I agree, it is better to give a dog or puppy a good home that really needs it!

My sister's MIL breeds dogs & cats just so she can make some extra money. She also keeps her dogs in a filthy backyard just like the one you described. When we first moved to Kentucky we had no choice but to live w/ her until we could afford a place of our own. Well that Winter we had a very bad ice storm & she left one of the little puppies(so tiny)outside. My Mom & I were sharing a trailer that they had in their backyard. It had no heat, but it was still much warmer then being outside in the bitter cold. I grabbed up the puppy & kept her inside with us. I also called the Humane Society on her, but they didn't do anything about it. In fact they didn't even visit her house to see for themselves if what I told them were true. Unfortunately you see a lot of this in Kentucky so I guess this kind of thing is considered acceptable. I think it's a disgrace that this is allowed to go on. It makes me physically ill to know first hand just how these poor animals are being treated.

That is awful. I cannot understand how people do this to animals. It broke my heart being in that yard, I seriously don't know how those dogs were still alive with what was there. Breeders are awful people, no offense but there are so many animals in shelters with not enough people to adopt them! Why keep bringing more and more into this world??? I do not understand it!!! I am SO grateful I do not live in Kentucky because I would be heart broken seeing that a lot...

I have never rescued a puppy from a shelter but I have been a responsible pet owner. People in my neighborhood would usually tell me that I have beautiful puppies and I should make money out of them. The nerve! Don't they know how stressful it is for dogs to give birth? Don't they know how much they're suffering from all those stress and all they could think of is earning money from those dogs? My dogs are neutered. And if I were to have a female pet dog, i'm going to spay it.

I am so glad I could save my puppy from where she was living. I don't think it is good to breed only because there are so many dogs already in shelters that no one wants, that kills me!
28 Aug 12
i'm so glad you did that! i once rang someone because i wanted to buy a yorkshire terrier. it turned out they were puppy farmers and making money selling yorkshire terrier for cheap [£200 whereas they are usually £450 and up] i just thought i was getting a good deal until i realised. i took the puppy anyway as it was the last one and i didn't want to run the risk of leaving it with those people and them potentially using it to breed, and then i rang the police and reported them!
• Valdosta, Georgia
28 Aug 12
I am glad we could do it because none of those dogs deserved what they were living in! It was the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life. I hope animal control does something about it because those people should not have one dog much less 12 of them!!

Hi friend, sorry to hear about this, really the puppy is in a bad place and you rescued it well, now it is in your place and i am sure you give more love and care to it, once i rescued a street dog from some nasty boys, as they are throwing stones to the dog and it is barking due to the pain, i shouted at the boy and saved the dog

Yeah it was super sad, I have never seen such a bad place for an animal. I was shocked and saddened when I saw where they were living. Yes she is healthy and well cared for with us. =) She is getting spoiled by my 3 children too! Lol Aw poor dog, I am glad you saved it. Those boys are so mean for doing such a mean thing to the dog!

its great of u to give such importance to pets. People like u shud be taken as an example in the society. I really admire and appreciate your care and interest towards pets. There are many organisations for pets and they really need tO take care of their rules and all regulations.hope ppl lyk u make tym for them. As far as i am concernd even i had a sweet dog bt my neihbours made me forcedly send it away creating a nuisance dat its a distrbnce so i miss it soo much. And im nt luky enough like you to have my pet with me. So take care of it hav fun.
