Confession: I will take a cult classic any day over a new movie

As I'm sitting here looking through my movie collection trying to find something good to watch (because Lord knows there's not a thing to be found on TV right now) I'm realizing that just about every movie I have in my collection is 90's or older and all the new movies are scattered throughout the house in the kids' rooms or other rooms from other people watching them Lol. When it comes down to it, I stick with what I know. Ferris Bueller, Dirty Dancing, Adventures in Babysitting, The Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Outsiders, Ghost, Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead, Grease, Sixteen Candles, Can't Buy Me Love...I could go on and on and on. When I watch movies or shows that I grew up on, it always takes me back to that feeling of being a kid again. I don't know, maybe I'm being silly, but does anyone else get like that? That "feel-good" feeling that you get when you watch old movies or hear an old song from your childhood. Times are so different now than they were in the 80's and even the 90's. It's hard to believe that it's been 20 something almost 30 years since the days of our childhood. Those were the good days!! =)

At the same time, someone who is a kid, now, is going to be around your age in 2040 and saying, "remember those movies from the 2000s to the 2020s? Those were the greatest movies ever, and they just aren't the same anymore."
There are always going to be great movies that come out, but the first great movie you've seen, will always stay the greatest, in your eyes.
