I'm about to became a Great Grandad

I just heard the news from my Grandson! He and my Grand-daughter-in-law are at the Hospital now. Perhaps at this very moment there is another member in our family. This is very exciting because his grandparents ( that's my wife and I)have been waiting impatiently for a Great Grandchild for several years. Grandchildren are always exciting, and great Grandchildren must be even more so. I can only remember one of my Great Grandmothers. She wore her dresses ankle length and as I remember, she looked like Queen Victoria.

I think everyone in the family are happy to know there another one added to as family member. Many people look at the new member as angel so everyone should be happy.
How much feeling a mother and a father felt when they both see their little baby coming out. I will experience this feeling soon when my wife will deliver our first baby this coming February 2013.

I remember when our first child was born, almost 57 years ago.It felt very different to be a father, and it took a bit of getting used to. My wife was a Registered Nurse at the time, and knew how to care for a newborn so I had no worries along that line. We had 3 babys more before we realized what was causing it!

It seems that the older we get the more family means to us! I pity those who were too busy, or too self centered to raise a family. They were happy then, but as they get older they will begin to see the folly of their ways. Family means so much to Grand Parents.

Thanks for the well wishes! My first Great Grandchild was born last evening, weighing in at 8 lb,2 oz. Her name is Charlotte, and both she and her Mom are doing well!
Temperature controlled clothing will make seasonal attire a thing of the past by the end of this century.No more heavy sweaters and long underwear for Great Grandparents!

Congratulations on your multiple Great Grandchildren!
We expect to remain in the loop as our Grandson (the new father) owns and works the farm next door. Two more sons have adjoining farms, and the forth son lives and works in Toronto but Loves farm life and is regularly here helping out.
We expect to be conscripted as Baby-sitters, as the new mom is an elementary school teacher.Isn't life a Hoot?
