Hi guys, I am relatively new here and I see that a lot people have a little coloured star above their avatar with a number in it. I was simply wondering how you go about getting those stars and what the numbers mean? I feel like my 4 year old son who has a star chart for being a good boy - I really want one of those stars above my name! I promise to be good :)

Yes you're right in a way. These stars indicate the reputation of an user. Higher the number, the better is the reputation and the colour of the star is accordingly. Here reputation is calculated according to Discussion Rating System (DRS). Which means the better an user participates by starting useful discussions, quality response, following guidelines, etc. the better will be his/her rating. Once an user's raking crosses 100, a star according to his performance shows up. From them it is checked and regulated regularly. For more information on DRS, check: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx
Good day!

Thank you very much. You have not been on myLot for that long it seems and yet this is the second time you have answered one of my queries and you always give such good thorough responses. How come you do not have a star above your name because you surely would have a rank above 100 by now!

sorry, I just saw that you actually do have a star with a pretty little 7 in it - well done.

Haha. Its okay. Mistakes happen. Not your fault. Actually I'm 3 weeks old in mylot. Since the earnings in myLot depends on the quality of our post, I try my best to answer in details and come up with the best solution. Also, if I satisfy someone's query, maybe I'll get a best response mark. So all these factors force me to response in quality and not just quantity.
