it is actually an orchid. i am sure you are familiar with this as it is very common here when you are looking for orchids on places where they sell plants. It is one of the first orchids i became familiar with. It is very nice to look at. actually we have this waling waling at home but for now it has not bloomed again maybe we should just buy another orchid that is flowering already.
anyway, our first national flower is sampaguita. but i hardly see sampaguita nowadays. and i think we should indeed recognize this waling waling as another or other national flower.

I think they changed the national flower from the Sampaguita to the Waling-Waling a few years back. It's actually native to my area and I have a few of them and they usually bloom their best during August. So right now, they're blooming! I can't take a photo for now because it's night time, I'll try to get some photos when I have the chance to.
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

yeah i think that most of us would like to have a waling waling at home than a sampaguita. so i think it is just right that they have changed it.

That is news to me, but maybe because I did not tune in to television passionately enough this past year. The same news over and over again became too much for me. But I am back now, listening again.
Hey, I love the scent of the sampaguita. But is the committee on culture made a study and deemed the walingwaling out rightful national flower, I would have no quarrel with that. How often does the walingwaling bloom, mine is semiannually. Is that normal?
