Shipping a DVD media mail

I ordered a dvd on Amazon a couple of days. It just shipped and it was shipped media mail. To ship it media mail costed $2.89 and the seller didn't even get tracking. TO ship first class with tracking would have costed less than $2.50. What was the point in shipping media mail?

Probably the seller has always had a policy of shipping by media mail and hasn't noticed that the price is more expensive than First Class mail. If you order through Amazon again, make sure that you select First Class as the shipping method (but Amazon may charge a premium for that, of course, some of which may be passed on to the seller). Either way, it is difficult to win with Amazon shipping rates!
