If in the past, we only knows Hristo Stoickhov as Bulgarian footballer..
or maybe Krassimic Balakov, the Stuggart Midfielder..
but in the 2000 era, One name related Bulgaria is Dimitar Berbatov..
I think he is one of well-known Bulgarian footballer..
He can`t reach level of Stoickhov et al era when they can bring Bulgaria national team until Semifinal of World cup 1990 in Italy..
if iam not wrong, Berbatov only bring his country play in Euro 2004 even the result is really upset for the fans...
Who is Dimitar Berbatov??
He is one of the Bulgarian footballer and his position is foward..
He starts his career in CSKA Sofia before Bayern Leverkusen buys him in 2001...
He is one of the Bayern Leverkusen squad in final of Champions league against Real Madrid when Zinedine Zidane scores a wonderful goal in that final...Real Madrid become winner in that game, 2-1..
2006, he moves to EPL when Tottenham Hotspurs buy him..He becomes idol for White Hart Lane public..his goal and his duet with Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe is one of the best at the time..He spend 2 years in White Hart Lane,score 27 goals before Manchester United take him and buy him £30 million and signing a four-year contract..
In season 2009, he is one of the squad of Manchester United which get the trophy...
and it make history for Bulgarian..Because Dimitar Berbatov become the first Bulgarian to win an English premiere League tittle..
Dimitar Berbatov is very kind too my friend..
He have a foundation, Dimitar Berbatov Foundation..The foundation for helping young people for developing their talents..A good charity from one famous people..
We do hope many footballer like Berbatov which always remember many poor people must be helped by they which have much money..

First of all, Stoichkov has lead Bulgaria to the semifinal in 1994 in the USA, not in 90.
As for Berbatov, he is a fantastic striker, but he couldn't be a regular first team player at United. His best time was at Leverkusen, where he was striker number one. If he would have become a great player if he would have become a regular first player at United.
As for charity, I think many players have this kind of organizations, and this is good so, they give something back to the community, because they are luckier than many of us.

he is good too in Spurs..his duet with robbie keane is one of the best at the time..it make MU wants to buy him with a higher price..
Yes, Stoichkov lead Bulgarian squad in Semifinal in 1994 world cup in USA, iam sorry, thanks for correcting me..Bulgaria only get the 4th in Worldcup 1994 after lost from Sweden in third place fighting..

Yes, you are right, I don't know how I forgot about his time at Tottenham, where he has made a great impact.
Bulgaria was a great team back then, it was the golden era of Bulgaria and Romania, lead by two similar players, Stoichkov and Hagi.

Too bad he can stand and retired on Man Utd.
I think he's a good player and has scored many important goals for MU.
But I think maybe because he didn't do it constantly, that make him replaced by other players. At one time, he could score a hat-trick. But in another 2-3 or maybe 5-6 times, he couldn't make even a single goal

yes, he ever scores many important goals for MU..Sir Alex Ferguson admits too that Dimitar Berbatov had ever become the influence player..
But the club needs consistency from the player...
But the surprised news that Juventus is interested too with Berbatov and try to get him before he sign for Fiorentina..
it means that Berba still have a popularity and many clubs still wants him..

Berbatov is one of my favorite players in the premier league i think that he is very underated because he may seem 'lazy' , but his goal scoring record speaks for itself. I also think that he was treated really unfairly at man u and its better that he has left.
