Do you shy away from soul searching?

Introspection can give us a window into our past that allows us to understand how our experiences have shaped the person we are today. Many people shy away from soul-searching, afraid of what they may find or unsure of how they will cope with the pain they might encounter. When we explore our personal history, the forces that have created the life we now live are laid bare for us. This can often help us to understand the issues that have impeded our progress and use the positive elements of our past as motivators. Let’s take comfort in the awareness that we have evolved over time and that we can grow in a more mindful way in the future. Do you agree?

Perhaps your soul can be found in your stomach. Have you ever felt a lump there, just back of your belly button, when you were uncertain of right or wrong? Perchance you plan to tell your husband off? What does your stomach say? Keep your stomach happy, and grow in a more mindful way in the future!

Sometimes we need to look backwards to see the future..we all need to do a bit of soul searching...it does help us grow.

Some soul-searching may be helpful, but this can also become addictive. It can lead to the what ifs, if onlys which destract us from the only place we have any choice, THE NOW. It's a trap we must be aware of and avoid at all costs.

Hi savypat, Certainly we must live in the now but sometimes a little soul searching is good. I agree that we should not dwell on the past. Thanks for your thoughts. Blessings.

Hi visavis, While we must live in the now, there is nothing wrong with looking at where we came from, that is unless we get into think what if. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

Hi dear Pose, introspection can be a good thing but I am thinking and worrying too much anyways. I stay away from soul searching now as I need a good dose of living from one day to the next. Due to a positive change in my life a little over a year ago I have become a very happy person. It doesnt mean that there are no more difficulties in my life and that everything works out excellent but this good change enables me to do something I wanted to do all my life, thats making my own decisions, of course talking things over with my husband first. But its my own decisions and its no more of any interest what certain people think of it. Only so much, there was emotional abuse in my family and I am free from it now. Dont want to dwell on the past as this doesnt help.

Hi RitterSport, No you must never dwell on the past, especially if there was any kind of abuse. We must live in the now. I was thinking more along the lines of what has brought us to where we are now. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.
