My cat had some amazing habits!

Growing up we had a grey cat - not sure of the breed as I was only young, but it was quite an amazing cat. It had this one habit that stands out in particular to me. In the morning we used to give it a saucer of milk to drink. We would pour the milk straight out of the fridge into the saucer. Our cat, Minky, would then dip her paw in and then shake the milk off as it was too cold. We would then put the saucer in the microwave for about 10 seconds, she would repeat the process and if the milk was still too cold she would once again shake the milk off her paw. Only when the milk was the right temperature would she actually lick the milk off her paw and then drink the milk. Talk about fussy! This is just one of the very unique things Minky used to do!

Some pets have bad habits true, like not using the litter box or we had one who was really mean but I think he was hurt by his previous owners... so that one is a sad story.

This made me giggle. I knew a few fussy cats as you said but yes this is a little much! How cute though. Your cat knew what she liked when it came to milk! Some animals are just as independent as us humans. She surely had her own personality.

What is more worrying then the fussy cat is the fact that we did this every morning. We all went through the same routine, knowing full well that she would not drink the milk until it was warm enough but we wanted to see it - every day. And it makes you wonder who is really in control the cat or the owner when we do such things at the bequest of our pets!

We might seem silly to our pets, who knows! But I don't blame you for the routine, it is something we want to remember even of our pets we try to make memories.

It's obvious that you are the kind of person who "lives" with your animals and establishes an understanding and line of communication with them that a lot of people don't have. Murphy, my 18 year old Lynx Point Siamese, is the same way. Only she expects me to warm her milk or cream for her. During the summer she is okay with having her morning cream on the kitchen counter but in the winter time I have to warm the cream for exactly 9 seconds in the micro wave and serve it to her in "bed", which is my heated water bed. Talk about spoiled!! But with all that our critters give us, spoiling them is a way of paying them back for all they give us. The grey cat, if it was solid grey, sounds like a Russian Blue. The breed is very intelligent and amazing in so many ways. I hope you will post more about your cat, it's fascinating to read about what other people's cats do.
