She finally took her name off the account

A few years back when I found Patches & Stripes I didnt have any animals. So I went to the vets they automatically put them under my Moms name.
When I called to get a copy of their files, they said I needed my Mom to sign for them because they were under her name meanwhile they were my cats.
She went today and supposeable told them to take her name off and put them under my name. So now I can get a copy without having her to sign them, I would love to read through their files.

It doesn't make any sense to me why they wouldn't let you have a copy of their medical records, even if they were in your mother's name. Surely the personnel at the vet's office knows that you are the one that brings them in for their appointments and that you are the one that pays the bills as well. In addition to that, you also have the same address so they have to realize that you weren't planning on doing anything to them.
Since they wouldn't let you have a copy of the records, I think that it is a really good thing that your mother has taken them off of her account.

I wonder why they automatically put it under your mom's name instead of setting you up with your own account. Were you under the age of consent at that time? Atleast now your name is on it so you won't have to worry about having your mom sign for the files etc...
