I use to admire before the beautiful cross stitch works of my cousin and was wondering how she could have possessed such patience doing an intricate works like that. I am one who is bored doing nothing hence when i resigned from work and as a full stay at home mom found more time at hand i thought that it won't do harm if i try making one. I got hooked into it since then and find great joy seeing the result of my patience in frame and hanged in our home.

True! I remember I had to make one for our project in school way back when I was in high school. It is pooh clock design, I was excited when I was doing it so I could see the outcome of my work. And when I'm done, I was so happy and glad the teacher gave it back (I just thought they're going to have it hanged at school). And up to now I have it in my room =)

Yes, I just love cross stitch, especially the projects my mother used to bring me from Canada! I especially like projects that resembled quilts, as I found them very challenging and they also looked nice when finished!

Your angel designs sound like a good idea, especially the autumn one and I wonder about the other designs too! The autumn one should be attractive, especially if it has all the fall colors!

I cross stitch, but I don't like samplers, and I really don't have much room on my walls for anything, so I like stitching on clothes with waste canvas and they are very popular with my family as gifts.

I am into cross stitching. It is a stress reliever for me aside for the fact that I am doing it because a cousin asked me to make one for her. I suggest that if you are going to start to cross stitch, choose a pattern that is just simple with not so many colors. There are some patterns that even have one or two colors on it just like the one that I had finished. It is called the crucifix. I made it on a black aida cloth and the threads are white and yellow onlt. I hope I can include it here. Lastly, choose a cloth that have 11counts or cloth that have larger holes than the basket weave cloth.

It's one of my stress reliever too and sometimes what I sort to when I'm feeling bored. I am into angel designs now for I want to have a sort of collections on this but I am not into this for months now as my available time had been diverted to doing mylot.

Cross stitch must be a very absorbing hobby but I have never tried it. I am not patient enough. I like embroidery but I prefer to do something more free hand with lots of different stitches. I love to buy cross stitch articles however because they are so attractive.

It isn't really, but I just noticed in the Martha Stewart magazine a suggestion to make cross stitch pictures of the members of your family. I think I'm going to try it - could be cute.

i like to cross stitch although i have been having some problems with tendonitis in my wrist so it makes it really hard to hold a needle. i miss cross stitching and crocheting too, but i have to wait until my arm heals before i can start up again.

I have to say that the cross stitch is difficult for me. I can't do it well. Whereas my mom is quite interested in it. And she has made big and beautiful cross stitch patterns now and then. It is just so amazing. I love China

I love the work but the last time I made some napkins with a cross stitch border was many years ago, when my eyes were good. I used to do a lot of crafts, but my eys won´t let me any more.

hi marguicha, sad to know that but yes, cross stitch is really taxing to the eyes. actually my oldest son used to reprimand me when he saw me doing it at night seeing it will harm my eyes. now he's married and not staying with us so i still do cross stitch at night some times particularly when it's on the finishing touches already.

I had made several frames out of cross-stitch works. Some of it were bought by my cousin which she framed and placed on her wall at home. It really required patience on our part. It was really a great feeling after finishing one frame. The result is additional grade for our eyeglasses.

my cousin used to sell her items too for she's already an expert in this area but she has slowed since she started having children. you're right one byproduct is additional grade for eyeglasses as i wear one too but i don't mind it as it's immaterial to the joy of seeing the result of the finished product.

According to a research, cross-stitching can make a person relax and can relieve stress. I did two, one is Mona Lisa and the other one Chinese kiddos. I did this when I had an internship in SPED school. I participated to make my own, since I appreciated that this is a project of disabled children.

hi there! I love cross stitch! I've started when I was in high school and eventually continued it until college. But because of my busy work schedule, I had no time doing my past hobby. I still have my work framed and hanged on our sala.

Yes, its a good way to pass time productively. I also like knitting in my spare time. Cross stich is kinda hard on the eyes so one shouldnt indulge in it too much.

I am not really interested in cross stitch but I admire the beautiful works.I am not also that patient to do those things but I remember our project during high school. Our teacher wants us to make a cross stitch but since I am so lazy and have no patience. I did not do it but I am lucky because my mom bought a cross stitch that is done already and I have passed it to our teacher. Our teacher was really impressed then my classmate said that she never saw me do it.I just kept quiet about it.

Many people around me make cross stitch, It really needs patience. I think some people are addicted to it. Once they begin, they don't want to stand up. I saw one of my students made cross stitch in class, she was so devoted to it that she hardly noticed I was standing beside her. She didn't realize it until the other students are laughing. She put it in her desk , and after a few minutes I found she was making that again, seems cross stitch is more interesting than my lecture.

yes mam i think i understand why your student acted that way. Its addicting and it feels like solving a crossword puzzle that when the image starts forming i become so engrossed that sometimes when i'm into it, my children would remind me that its eating time already and we need to eat.
