Paypal "change your credit card?"

Funny right? I have a verified paypal account and have almost 15-20 successful transaction in 2 months. I am using a prepaid credit card whenever I purchase to prevent over spending and scam. Last week when I proceed to checkout, using the same site I always purchased goods, paypal refused to accept my payments. First I though I ran out of balance, but as I check my credit card it was enough and in fact I still have more credits. Okay, I tried again maybe 3 or 4 times resulting to failed transactions. And then I got mail from the merchant saying they receive my order, same order 3 or 4 times but they don't receive the payments. So I emailed paypal and report the incident. I guess 3 different person gave me same reply...please follow this procedure so and so. Okay then I follow the procedure, ask the merchant to send me an invoice to pay directly to them. But still paypal refuses my payment. Again I reply to paypal costumer service that I am still having a problem even following the steps they sent me. Their reply..."We suggest you change or use different credit card and try again after 2 or more days" HUH?! I was puzzled and think is this really possible? What if a paypal member only have one credit card? Until now I didn't try making transactions again. I am confused. Sorry for making this a long story. Anybody here mylotters have same experience with me. Thanks for sharing.

This is an issue with your credit card, not with PayPal. There is clearly some problem when PayPal try to debit your credit card. You need to contact your credit card company for their explanation and assistance. All that PayPal can do is to try to raise a charge. They cannot know (and nor should they) why the charge is delayed or refused.

thanks owlwings, That's my first idea thou. But I use the same credit card since I use paypal. I don't have problems with my past transactions either. And I use my credit card for shopping without paypal and it goes well too. I didn't contact my credit card yet maybe on my next transaction if I still have the same problem I will.

Now I know where the problem begins. My credit card is restricted to some countries.

Well, I too have a verified PayPal account, which I associated with only a prepaid card (in Italy "Postepay"). I usually work in reverse. Or. Let the example Mylot pay me $ 12 and I charge them on my Paypal account. I then have to decide when to transfer the cash ( -1$ if the amount is less than 100) on my prepaid Postepay. I do not know what kind of prepaid card you have (though I think this kind of cards, you also say "debitcard" and no credit cards). However, if Paypal has made ??some changes to the site that would prevent me to work as I always have, that certainly I would not like!

Hi alberello, Thanks. I haven't tried using paypal to withdraw money. I always use paypal for purchasing goods. Nothing has change with my prepaid credit card either. I am using credit card strictly for internet shopping only. Again next week I need to purchase goods and I will try using paypal again with the same card. If ever I got the same problem maybe this is the time I should ask my credit card company. By then we will know where the problem is.

It coud be that your credit card has expired or you put the wrong three number serial number down or the wrong expiry date. What you should do is to contact (write to rather then phone) your credit card company and ask if they sent you a new card. If they email and said they did, then tell them you did not get it. You could go to their web site and give the info, but look for the little lock at the bottom of the website. One time, I put the wrong expiry date (I have astigmatism and if the print is not much darker then the rest of the page, I have trouble seeing and of course on credit cards), and I had to phone the company and say my credit card out verbaly, but then it was all right after that.

Thanks suspenseful, I guess there's no problem with the wrong serial number input because I tried to re input many times and it always says...this card is already registered. So it means serial number or expiration date and so on are all okay.
