Sad, and i thought we were invulnerable to these disasters. Looks like I was wrong, if Japan can experience magnitude of seven, then so are we. I don't know if I was just a rock and didn't feel a thing but the people from manila says they felt the damn Quake. if this was hitting the metropolis, a lot of people would have died for sure because of the low stability of the old buildings. Any one becareful out there and be sure to have survival kits, and emergency lights.

I'm a "prepper" and I'm always ready for anything except what I did not prepare for. To be honest I did not feel the quake or anything in where i am although some may have, Good thing damage was minimal for a quake at that magnitude. " God bless the Philippines" and hope very one is safe and continue to be safe!

yes my friend, let's keep on trusting the divine power that is greater than all of us, although we are lucky, let's continue being prepared. " do your best and God will do the rest"

It was actually reverted to 7.6 in the epicenter. I wasn't at that area but I felt it, everyone did even those in other cities. I was sure people would have panicked if it was a little bit stronger. Whew! We were even waiting for aftershocks and though earthquakes are common in my city, that was different. The shaking was indeed different. Keep safe guys! Have a great mylot experience ahead!

May God be with you! I`ll have you in my daily prayers. And with your emergency lights, you must talk about emergency plans with your family. Where are you going to meet, what are you going to do if any disaster occurs. Take care. Blessings!

Hello dainy1313, We have emergency lights and it's been proved useful during the brown out or black out problem s here. Our barangay and municipality is near so i think we can go into safety.

Reality is that those of us who live on the Pacific Ring of fire are not safe, it's not a matter of if the question is when. Any who do not recognize this threat just have their heads in the sand. Stay prepared. Blessings

Hello namiya, i agree with you that we hope that things will be ok from now on since that magnitude was really powerful indeed. people should listen when ever there is such a huge quake because they never know what could happen

That sure was a really strong quake, to be felt nationwide. The past strong earthquakes were only concentrated in certain regions, but this one seems to have a wider coverage. We felt the strong shaking here in Cebu, too.

Hello Jueathome, It's sad this happened to us though. be careful out there, ihope that your daughter is no longer paranoid of these things. besides, the government is ready for this and then have their people to send support for those who have evacuated.

I guess the quake last Friday was a strong one and we were lucky the Philippine Trench somehow stopped us from getting hit by a tsunami. That magnitude was supposed to create a large tsunami but the shape of the trench somehow stop it from creating big waves instead created some small ripples only. Yesterday, I heard from the news that another one hit Mindanao and like the Visayan earthquake, it happened deep in the ocean floor and it also did not create a deadly tsunami as well. I think we are still being spared from major disasters like this. Manila is quite vulnerable if this happens. Since we are densely populated as well as the many infrastructure around the city. I am just fearing that Luzon may just be triggered anytime soon and I am praying that it would not be that strong.

Hi Letran Knight: Oh dear, these are really terrible news. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and that people don't suffer too much after this natural disasters. We can't be 100% protected of earthquakes or other natural phenomenon. ALVARO

AT first i didn't feel the quake, Letran. I was at that time walking to the room of my father-in-law's caregiver to store hang my towel, when he said that "ate, lumilindol, (it's shaking). Thus, i stopped and indeed it was. And it became stronger and the chandelier was swinging already. I was planning that we all go outside but it stopped in a while. It was a strong earthquake and it stunned me.
