Why does life seem to speed up as we get older?

So this is not a new phenomenon, but life seems to speed up as you get older. The years disappear quicker than you can believe, the months seem like weeks, and each birthday just rolls around like it is a monthly milestone. But why? and it is there any way of stopping this constant acceleration of our life?

It isn't time that is changing. It's our perception of time that changes. As the body ages, it can not sustain all the neural connections. Example in sight, it's like a picture on a tv. The more dots you have; the clearer and sharper the picture. Get older and all of a sudden, you have fewer dots. You can still see the picture' however your perception level has dropped. If you noticed, the young have lightning reflexes. They have all possible neural connections working at top capacity. They perceive time as moving slowly. Alas, there is nothing you can do except be smarter with your choices. You can still get the important stuff taken care of.

Older people tend to get busy with certain things that they feel a day is not enough for them to accomplish all the things that they need to get done with. Unlike kids, they are not so concerned about the future and all they have in mind are how to enjoy life as it is.

This happens because time is relative. As you get older a year seems shorter because its becoming shorter compared to how long you have lived. For example when your 5 a year equals a fifth of your life thus goes by slower than someone who is 50 and a year equals 1/50. And vice versa. There is no way to stop time or how relative it is. Everyone faces this not just you. Just savor the time ypu spend doing things you enjoy and, no matter how fast it feels time is going, youll be happy
