Starting an Auction

Does anyone have any experience hosting or running an auction? I've actually thought about starting one in my town. It's a temporary auction probably being held twice and I'm looking to settle it out in a nice grass setting, not in an auction building. Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any websites that could help me out? I'm assuming there are probably going to be a lot of permits.

I am not having any website .But you should go according to your country rules i guess. Because every place has its rules and regulations for this. You should better consult your officials.

That is an interesting idea though. Hosting an auction online, and let those online member to bid on it. I never encounter such website yet, and I also interest to know whether such website exist in the web too. Hopefully it is free of charge, and I would be interest to host an auction of my own too.
