there is a television show here in the philippines titled "kapuso mo, jessica soho. jessica soho is the tv host of this prominent program. i like this show because we can get new interesting features and informations about everything in life. i was being interested to the one of the featured story. and this one is about cough medicine. and that cough medicine is lizard. yes, lizard. according to the man featured on tv who started eating lizard since he was young as remedy for his cough. he will just put some salt on it to make it more tastier. imagine, raw lizard! so the staff of the show refer to the expert if the lizard can cure cough. and it was affirmative. the skin of the lizard contain Ephedrine. this substance is a temporary relief of short breathing, chest tightness and wheezing due to asthma or cough. there is also disadvantage in eating raw lizard for this one may have bacteria that could be intake too. since the man is already senile and do not have a clear eye vision, his children are the one catches lizard for him to eat. this lizard is tasted like pork, as he added. what about you, what else do you know to heal cough or asthma. for me, i do not know if i could dare to eat lizard, raw or cooked

I don't get colds or coughs much anymore. But years ago I had Bronchitis. I started taking an all natural herbal cough medicine and I have not been bothered by Bronchitis since then. Sometimes, maybe once in a year, I feel like I'm getting a tickle in my throat and that the Bronchitis is coming back but I just take this medicine 2 or 3 times and it goes away. It works very well. I have friends who use it also.

hi there... if i have a cough that is because my chest if already full with gastritis. if that happend, kalamansi is the best cure for me. eleven pieces of it - slice and slurp it without any water. i just prepared sugar or salt not to taste the sourness of it after drinking it purely. or yet, i will just massage my chest with liniment. that would relieved my cough. no lizard whahah thanks

Hi, If this is the case, I am happy to stay on with my cough! ahahahah If I happened to see a lizard at home, I can rest only after sending it to out of the house. Even I had seen some tv show where the boy used to eat anything, including live lizards, cockroaches, snakes, fish, frog, in short - whatever moving thing, he will eat. In that show, it was showing so many things and the fun is, he just want to become famous. All his family members were against it and he was moved out of the home and living alone. He found about 20-23 years old and looks good health. Anyway, he has no earnings, if anyone want to see some eating process, he will ask for money and people are ready to pay for it. Also, if we got a collection of anything like, he will eat it and he will charge for depending on what he is eating. However, there is no mention about the cough relief.

I dislike even seeing it. If I found at home, I don't know, I am tempted to kill them and I will try my best to do it. This is the only living thing I feel like killing and mosquitos. Anyway, if I managed to kill the lizard, I will hold on its tail and throw away. I think the discharge is poisionus and some times at night times, they will appear in the kitchen areas and don't want to see it in the home mainly due to this reasons and I am scared of the big sized lizards!

i can handle lizards but not those biggie one you mentioned. its name is gecko. that reptile is horrible for me to see. i am scared of that creature. and i hate its voice. i am afraid that it might jump into me and stick on my skin. everyone told that if this gecko would stick on your skin, you will find hardship to pull it from your skin and that there would be a tendency that it will hurt and might wound you. so better like lizard than gecko thanks for joining

Hi there. I myself am familiar and have watched Jessica Soho many times in the past. I find the show so informative and their featured topics are interesting. However, it's been a long time since I had the opportunity to watch this show because of tight schedule on my part. Anyway, I haven't watched this particular episode about a man eating raw lizard to cure his cough. I have to admit that I also can't fathom or dare to do just what this man did. But years ago, I've learned from my former office mate that a cooked seahorse (grilled) can cure asthma. If I'm not mistaken, this idea came from the local Chinese settlers who also sell the same. It has been proven by my office mate because she used to suffer from asthma when she was still a small child. Way back then and as related by this office mate, her mom sprinkled the grilled (almost burnt) seahorse onto a bowl of champorado without her knowledge. As a result, her asthma miraculously subsided and has been free from this sickness. But also according to the local Chinese, her sickness (asthma) will again manifest when she reaches her prime years (50 or 60). But it still is a great relief to be asthma-free for 40 years or so.

hello there. thanks for replying in this post yes, for same reasons you have here, that is why i like this show. hmm... so far as i knew (but do not know if others do also knew) that chinese people are fond of using herbal and natural medicines. i guess, thus sea horse is working for your friend's health condition. for somehow, his illness subsided. when she will reach the optimum age as you mentioned, maybe she will need to have a seahorse to cure her again or yet, she must be cautious not to trigger her sickness once more or to worsen it again. and yes, good for her that for the meantime, she is healing and feeling better. well to say, forty years is a good break not have asthma. thanks again :)

so ephedrine is the reason why years ago when i was still living in the province i remember some people claiming that lizards are good for asthmatic persons. I even had a friend who was required to eat a roasted lizard by her father from time to time to help cure her asthma. I did not believe in it for i think it has no basis but maybe it really did help my friend for i had seen no resistance every-time her father requires her to eat it.

hello there, this thing which i am not certain of. but it was being featured in the tv show called kapuso mo, jessica soho and being referred to the specialists if really it will help cure asthma. maybe the lizard is not enough for your friend to cure her asthma - i mean maybe what she needed is much higher dosage of ephidrine. thanks for joining in here there is no yet videos being shown in youtube but if there is the language being used is tagalog

missjahn: I suffered from acute asthma for 30-35 years. Now I am managing with one tablet. For avoiding asthma attacks you should not take allergent foods-- mostly sweet, oil, ghee--also over eating. cold stuff, ice cream. aovid these. also cover your ears in the night from cold--if it is cold in your area. I use asthalin inhaler whenever needed (salbutamol sulphate). I also take avil 25 mg one per day and Theo asthalin - theophyline and salbutamol sulphate. Another important point - avoid worries. be cheerful. avoid dust. do not take lizard, fish and all that for treatment.

missjahn: No expertise. I am using these medicines and I shared my experience with you. I have also heard that cats fur can cause allergy in people triggering asthma. yes. dust, cold, moisty climate can cause asthma easily.

hello there sir ravi - yes, i do not know why cold or frozen foods like ice cream and any other trigger cough. or do you believe sir that the cat's far can cause asthma too if can inhale their furs. i guess it is because the feathers of the cats being were being stick with dust and any allergenic particles. what i knew of the said medicine based on what stated is this salbutamol. i seen this one as my madam let her child drink it to cure the illness. is this the kind of medicine being used when pumping an inhaler of asthma? thanks for the shown interest as you give your expertise of this matter :O) thanks much

Hi missjahn. I have seen this episode as well. What he was doing was so yucky. I'd rather drink 4 liters of water that to eat a live lizard.:)

hello there! neither me would take the courage to eat it raw or having a bad time in eating it cooked. i cannot and would not dare. but really if it required so and that for example if i have asthma, i guess, will convince myself harder that it would be okay to do that just to feel relieved and get cured along the way. maybe or i do not know ;) thanks for the shared thought :)

I think they're all good. I use Nyquil or Dayquil (according to what time it is) cough medicine, and then lemon-honey cough drops (they should be called 'Miss Rita's, as Miss Rita at my neighborhood FAMILY DOLLAR was the one that got me started on them!)

The FAMILY DOLLAR I'm talking about is a general store or a shopping-market near my house (with affiliates all over the US). Happy to help.

if i have asthma and its really bothering my life, then raw lizard that contain ephedrine is the only cure available for me i'm willing to take it, but there is also a plant that contain ephedrine, so people with asthma will have the choice, either they want to try to take the ephedrine of raw lizard or the ephedrine from the plant...

good way of thinking. able to do everything to cure one's illness. but good that you found out that there is a replacement of the source of ephedrine that can be found at a certain plants - what plant is that? i do not know if i can eat raw lizard really. the man told the media that it's taste when being cook is like pork. maybe i can eat it, if i will not be aware what kind of food is it. they can grind it or smash it or mixed with other food. thanks kongno for sharing your thoughts in here

yes i'm willing to do or take anything to cure my illness i always want to stay healthy, good health for me is as good as wealth, ephedra sinica is the plant that contain ephedrine,...i also have thought at first that the lizard should be grill and grind into powder-like before taking it...

i am not familiar with that plant. but maybe if there is not other way around to heal that kind of illness, well i'll stick with lizard as you say, maybe friend it and pulverized it and mix it with foods. in this way, you are not aware that one of what you eat is composed of lizard ashes. better that way.. ans thanks for joining in here :)
