It takes time for an animal to ajdjust, I know now even months down the road Toppie and Marco are stilling fitting in and little things make you scratch your head. Saying that, I would give them a chance Toppie was a nibbler and he's fine now maybe a little when he gets excited. A friend of mine adopted a rabbit, and was saying how she was going to bring it back because its nothing like it should, or too much work. I couldnt imagine bringing back and animal without giving them a chance. They arent going to adjust in a 10 minute car drive.

I have had to give back an animal when I was a lil kid. I finally got a kitten for me to keep and having a big mouth I showed the neighbor who then blabbed to the landlord. Yes many animals can be alot of work, I have one who is a royal PITA but he's part of the family :/

I hate it when people do that. Sometimes people get pets that they can't afford too and then bring it back. I think that is an awful thing to do too. Some people just don't seem to realize that animals are living creatures with feelings and emotional needs. I think that it is just as cruel as if someone were to adopt a human child and then return him or her, which also happens.

I do not understand that either. It is one thing if the animals just is not adjusting after an extended time or there is another issue (like aggression), but just to return it because you think it is too much work...well I want to say it isn't the right thing to do, but it really is. If it is too much work, she won't take care of the pet properly and then you have a welfare issue. People should think about these things before they adopt animals.

Yes a lot of people are either just plain stupid when it comes to taking care of animals or they are just to lazy to train them.

its always nice and good will to adopt an animal and take good care of it rather than driving miles for it , suggest you to look out a center for adoption

I never really wanted to have pets because it's gonna be too much work for me. I have a lot of things to worry about and so having another one will be too much to handle. I have a friend who adopted a puppy and all of a sudden givei it to somebody. I have a feeling she did it because one of our friends have one and she's jealous with her so she decided to get one herself but it ended up giving it back because she's not responsible enough to have it.

They have to adjust FROM the car ride as well. Oh well if she wants to bring it back, let her, maybe a bunny just isn't for her. Cats and dogs seem to adjust a little bit faster then other animals though, atleast from what I've noticed. In any case there is a site, petcentric I think is what it's called? great animal advice. It may have something to help the animals adjust, tips and the such. Maybe suggest it to your friend?

Adopting an animal for a pet gives you an all time adjustment not just for your pet but for the pet owner as well.If you want to adopt a pet you should be very prepared enough physically, emotionally and financially. :)Having a pet is like having a child too why?pets too need tender love and care. And when we say tender love and care., it means we have to love and respect our pets just like how we respect our mothers or fathers or even our children.Adjustments between you and your pet doesn't happen overtime.Just like when you meet a new person, you won't trust that person immediately right? same goes with your pet earning trust is not that easy so patience will take place.Pets specially dogs offers unconditional love to their owners I said so because we have a pet dog too and she is very lovable and loyal. There are reports that some pets even save their owner's lives so don't lose patience in having a pet it will have a better result in the end. :)

Case in point, people shouldn't get a pet based on a whim.

Yes some animals do need some time and adjustments to the new place of their own with you. It's not like exchanging a pair of ill fitting pants. There had been some issues with my most recent cat that I had to fix and she has been good now with it ( scratching wood trim around the woodwork!). I think some people are just too impatient and do not think things through. This is the main reason why they say never to give a pet for a gift for Christmas, it is often neglected during the holiday and such.
