My dil entered my little grandaughter in her first pagent yesterday. My dil told my son & grandson the first of the week they needed to practice smiling w/the little one. My son wasn't too excited about the pagent[me either] so he taught the little one the most hilarious grin u ever saw. When he had her show me her pagent smile i about rolled on the ground. It was hilarios& sooooooooo cute.[yes, i'm predjudice]. To make a long story short she won first runner up & didn't even have to use her funny face..I really wish she had used it, she might have won first prize.. She is quite a blessing in my life. Do u have blessings? Tell me about them.

Awww, I wish we could have seen a picture of that famous smile or in her little pagent dress! She did really great for her first pagent. I know you probably told me how old she was but I forgot...is she five like my granddaughter Lucy? I talk to so many people about their grandkids I forget who is who, haha. Yes, the grandkids are a blessing for me too. My grandson Kevin, is 28 but my granddaughter is 5...big difference between the ages, lol! Of course Lucy gets the most attention while she's growing up. And of course, she's the one I babysit so I get to see everything new she's doing.

Aww, she is a real little peanut yet. No, not on Facebook anymore..too many problems there and it's getting to creepy for me. Yes, my daughter almost fell over when she found out she was pregnant so many years later, but it was the best thing in the world to happen and everyone was just tickled to pieces.

Well, congratulations grandma!! I'm a FBer and I want to see her! My blessings are my children and grandchildren. I show my grandkids and kids on FB too. There's no other greater blessings than your children and granchildren, especially when you're around them to watch them go thru their phases!

hi dear Antiquelady thats really cute. I saw the pics TJ put up on FB......LOL Hmmmmm blessings in my life, no kids so no grandkids, but I am blessed for sure: having been reconciled with the Catholic Church in 2002 thats an ongoing blessing to have my spiritual home back. Love my Church so much. Having broken free from some past loads off my shoulders, feeling happy every day. Even then things dont work out as planned. LOL- being married so I dont travel the road of life alone, eventhough its a bumpy road sometimes. Having great online and offline friends who stand by me. Having work which pays the bills (though I dont look forward to going back to that place tomorrow after two weeks off - huge grin - )

hi dearest Jo, you believe in God, you love to go to church and the old hymns mean something to you so thats wonderful. My faith isnt big at all. Like I am no person of prayer as I think my prayers wont go past the ceiling but I love Holy Mass and its not boring to me but like "saying hi to God and spend some time in his living room which is the Church". Mornings are also not good for me so I miss out on Sunday Holy Mass, but we want to get to Saturday Evening Mass which counts as Sunday Mass too.

Congratulations to her! That's great. I wish I could see the funny face for myself. My blessing is my little almost niece that I've mentioned before. The little girl my sister and BIL are in the process of adopting through foster care. My sister sent me a picture of "A" with her babysitter. It was hilarious. The babysitter was making a silly face and A had a look on her face as if to say, Who is this crazy lady? I can't wait until the adoption goes final so I can show everyone.

That's great! I hope this isn't one of those crazy pageants where kids have to look like super models instead of little kids and wear fake eyelashes and all that craziness. Like that show toddler's in tiara's. I mean it's great for kids to play dress up and feel beautiful.. but forcing them to do it when they don't want to and going through these crazy beauty regiments like gluing on fake eyelashes and taping body parts to look just right is ridiculous for a little kid!

Definitely. I've never watched that show.. but I've seen previews for it where moms are telling the girls to come get their hair brushed or practice their walk and the kid is screaming that they don't want to right now.. like they want to go play with dolls or something. Geez! Kids need time to be kids! Like I said, it's one thing to do something like that once in awhile as long as it isn't out of hand! My daughter is in dance. She takes a dance class once a week from October until April then they have a big recital. It's not a super strict dance class.. none of the girls are really that good honestly. At the recital you can see most of the girls looking off stage at their instructor for cues as to what to do next. But it's good for them. They are learning the basics of dance, getting a bit of exercise, and once a year they get to dress up and wear make up and get their hair done and perform for their parents and friends. No pressure.. just fun. When kids get pressured that's when they start hating it and want to give up. My daughter loves dance. She's almost 10 now and has been in dance since she was 3. She'll probably always love it because the atmosphere is fun instead of stressful!

I haven't watched it either & don't have any plans to start. Kids don't need stree like that. They will have enough of that when they get grown.

That's cute! I can't wait to see a photo of your granddaughter. She must be very pretty. Children are blessings. They make us happy in more ways than one. My kid and my grandchildren are my blessings. They make my house messy when they are around but in exchange they give me and my hubby good laughter and fun.

All 5 of my grandchildren are blessing, and one of those blessings has given us another blessing, our little great grandson. I just wish those blessings had hit closer to h one, our home, that is. They are all scattered from eastern Missouri to the Pacific Ocean.

Thanks for your sweet response.no, i'm not crazy about them either. As long as my dil does like she did yesterday & keep her looking like a little girl i want say a word, But if she continues to put her in them & fixes her up like an adult, that will be a different story. I can't stand the way mothers do that to their kids. She is just 17 months old. She wore her dress that she had for her birthday in march & it was precious & looked like a little girl is suppose to look.
