I have been planning to put up my own business somehow, but since I do not yet have enough budget to start on my own, I am setting aside the plan for the meantime. I will be dealing with this plan when everything is ready. I was actually choosing between food business and that of having my own internet shop or perhaps I could have both. As of now, I want to make a study with regards to the place where I'll be putting up my business. I would like to put it up on a place where I could visitit from time to time since I also have a permanent job. I am soliciting from you my fellow mylotters some opinions and knowledge with regards to my plan. Your suggestions and comments are most welcome. Thank you.

Hi Aries1973, for me first, consider your location, where are you going to put up your business, do already own the place? (great) or you are going to rent for a place (then you need to consider the rent expenses, electricity, etc.)? Is the location's easy accessible, how many people are going in that place, how many computer shops or eatery are in the place? I am also planning to have my own small computer shop, and I have a little budget for it, we already have a place, but we are still going to make a little renovation. So, little by little I am hoping it to be finish this month. I choose a computer shop to start with here in our place. Hope you can also decide which will you prefer. But if you think that it will be a good business then you can do both. :)

Thank you for that wonderful advice dsw! I will consider this suggestion. Actually, I am not sure if I could start with my plan because of insufficient fund and I don't consider borrowing as an option yet although there are some who do the same and they were able to survive.

Why don't you start selling food online first. You can start posting pictures of your food and other items. The best way to start out is to do it online.

I think having offering both would be perfect. But it depends on your area and what you off. Around here we dont have anything like that, I wish we did so we could get out more and relax while enjoying some coffee with friends.

My dad set up a restaurant when he retired, but staff members who were not part of the family took advantage and stole from the cash box. Running a business entails hard work and a hands-on approach, and it greatly helps to have someone you can trust (preferably a family member) who can help manage the day-to-day operations.
