Have you ever done something like this?

Last couple of days my bicycle commute early in the morning has been a bit chilly to say the least. Told my wife that I needed to remember to look for my fleece hat that fits under my bicycle helmet and my gloves. Fingers were so cold I had a little bit of trouble using my keyboard until they warmed up. When I got home I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I did with those items. Guess where they were. They were in the backpack I wear everyday for the trip right under my rain pants. I had them with me the whole time.

Oh yes I have!
In fact I've made reference to it in a few responses I've made here in myLot. It was when I keep running up and down my room and the garage downstairs trying to look for the keys to the car. I just couldn't find it as I held it in my hand.
Ooops!

I've done something similar. I just don't remember the details. It is embarrassing to find something like that already in your hand.

We settled on Wildfire but it might not stick. I had to think about it too long when I saw your question.

Happened to me a couple of times. Sometimes, when I'm in a hurry I would look for my eyeglasses everywhere and until I check the mirror, wouldn't see i was already wearing them!
Sometimes it's my cellphone or my car keys. I think I'm really getting old.

I've done that sort of mistake before. Usually it's the lost sunglasses on the top of my head. It's less embarrassing when you discover them yourself. Far worse when someone points them out for you.
