Labor Day Deals?

I've seen many stores in particular furniture and appliance stores pushing Labor Day deals this weekend. I'm watching the news and they mentioned a few restaurants with labor day deals. The one I found facinating is that a nationwide chain of coffee houses is offering buy 4 get 1 free. Unless you go to an office and you take turns in picking up coffee I don't picture anyone needing 5 over priced coffee's?!?! Or unless you meet a big group there? We looked also at an appliance store thinking hmm... what kind of deals do they got? Yeah, no deals any better than any other store has had before the "big sale". Though the one store had people on comission and all I could think of was how the man reminded me of the Penguin from the orig Batman tv show he was just missing the monicale, cigarette holder, and top hat... he was following us around and we made our way to the door. Have you seen any deals?

I saw in the Sunday Newspaper some furniture deals and alot of commercials on TV that are saying they are having furniture and appliances sales, i dont know if i agree with them or not because i look online at stuff and see they dont have things on sale compared to other stores. I was out yesterday but went to a flea market and a goodwill seeing if i could find anything i needed. I didnt really see much of anything out in the stores on sale as they re swtill normal pricing to me.

I dont even bother to go out when they have these sales. The only time I think its worth it is black friday but getting up super early and going out in that crazy traffic and overcrowded stores isnt worth it for me. I agree about the buy 4 coffees get 1 free being a silly sale. Unless they are in a group its really pointless.

My daughter was in Tennessee nearly two years ago for black Friday and went with her friends to buy a wedding dress. She got super lucky and bought the most wonderful dress at a fraction of the cost. I was feeling so miserable not being there with her but each time she tried on a dress she sent the photo to me by blackberry - so I did get an input after all. I have never been to a Black Friday sale but would like to go once to experience it

retailers always have sales on here because they are not making much money anymore. We just moved into our apartment on Saturday so we really didn't go out. The stores were closed on Labour day, yes that is how you spell labour in my country, Canada.

Well, I know if you go to Burger King today you get a smoothie for just a dollar. Unfortunately, I just remembered this as I'm reading your discussion. So it doesn't do me a whole lotta good. ; )

One of our local furniture stores rand a sale this weekend...and it was 10% off your purchase....but you had to buy over $1500.00 worth of furniture to get the discount. So if you just wanted a new desk....you didn't get the money off....

LOL @ the salesman that looked like the Penguin. This gave me a good laugh for the day. Big Lots has a decent sale on mattresses this weekend. The mattresses were on sale and when you bought them they sold the bottom part for $10. I think that was a decent deal. I really wish I would have had the money cause I would have gotten me a new set!

We went shopping at the outlet mall on Friday as they said they were having a big sale. Most stores were doing 40% off everything, which I guess is pretty good, but I still thought some of the stuff was way overpriced. I remember outlet malls used to be cheap, but it no longer looks like any of it is any cheaper than a regular mall. The only really good sales I thought I saw was that Gap sweatshirts were $20 each, but none of my kids wanted one. One of the shoe stores did have buy 2 get one free.. but it still cost me $200 for the 2 pair I paid for!! Some deal! The Aero jeans I bought the oldest were only about $20 each wich is a pretty good deal considering it's Aeropostale. However, I had better luck the previous week at the regular mall. I hit up the clearance racks at JC Penneys and got t-shirts for my youngest for $3 each and jeans for $6, and shirts for the older kids for $6 and jeans for $10. Then Sears had backpacks at 50% off so my son got a backpack for $13! The last time we went to the outlet mall I think they were having a better sale as I remember getting Osh Kosh shirts for my boys for $2 each and a winter coat for the 6 year old for $15 and they got some sweaters too that were pretty cheap.
