Just heard one radio commentator the other night calling (or pleading) on government officials to apply the "robredo effect" in the quality of their service. Do you think this will touch the conscience of and reform those cheeky souls in our government offices?

When it comes to politicians, I learned not to to expect too much from them. Although I can expect some to claim that they will try to follow Robredo’s footsteps but I think it will just in time for the elections. Not to sound so gloomy but politicians are not exactly the type to be trustworthy these days. Robredo was arare kind of politician – I would even push the envelope and say that he is a true public servant and statesman. I don’t know (with the current trend of politicians these days - read epalness) if somebody would turn out to be a genuine article.

Well, voters vote depending on their decisions and most often emotions. It’s my analysis of how Filipinos vote for their leaders. It’s not a bad method but sometimes, I feel that it’s just for the short term. If we want real and consistent progress,, we also need to vote for long-term goals and trustworthy people.

I am hoping that somehow it would have some impact and could be spread around the country. I think it is hard but if some people will start trying to make a ripple effect then it is possible to really institutionalize his idealism.

same here too, though honestly i don't expect the seasoned TRAditional POliticianS to still possess conscience but i hope this "robredo effect" would encourage the new breed, specifically those students rallyists before who denounce political abuses but, have chosen a political career after finishing their studies.

it only comes to show how starved our country is to honest government officials, calling on something like that. i'm sorry to say this but it is like saying we have a lack of people like the late Sec.Jesse Sorry but maybe media should better be careful next time on telling the truth
