Nail art Idea

I've decided to enter a nail art contest on facebook. It is hosted by the new brand of nail polish called Dazzle Dry. The theme is called Newsworthy Nail Art Challenge, where in you submit the photo of your nail art with newspaper as your background, showing only the date and not the newspaper head. Everyone is allowed to submit 3 entries. I've already submitted one. Newsworthy means "good enough to be published/publicized". So I was thinking, I need a design that's good enough to be publicized. And all I can think of is something that hasn't been done before. The problem is, I can't think of anything that hasn't been done as a nail art. Things like jeans, cupcakes, M&Ms, zippers, websites, newspapers, wood, fire, etc.. has already been turned into nail art. Even fish/snake scales! If that's the case, then the only option there is, is to create a design that has already been done before, and then modify it or add some twist to it. But what?? Any idea? I hope there are mylotters who are nail art enthusiasts. Thanks! :)

How about 3D nail art? As in using rhinestones, stickers and such? I've always wanted to do a checkerboard with white/black rhinestones on the squares.

That sounded really nice. I think I'll try to do that one of these days but I don't think I'll use it as an entry to the contest. I don't know how to draw/use freehand technique. I'm gonna have to practice it first. My hand is very shaky, especially my non-dominant hand. I find it really hard to paint with my non-dominant hand. Stickers and rhinestones can be used. But 3D nail art using acrylic molds are not allowed in the contest. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion. It sounds really simple but elegant at the same time.
