A Few Questions Concerning Meth...

I live in a trailer park in a town that is known to have a big meth problem. In the trailer park where I live, at least 2/3rds of the residents are either alcoholics, junkies of some sort, or another, or both. We did not know about the meth problem in this town or the sort of residents in this park when we moved here. Why and/or how we ended up here in the first place is an entirely different story altogether that, for the interest of not making this discussion any longer than it needs to be, I'm going to go into right now. About 50 feet away from our trailer is a small patch of woods with a trail running through them. These woods are not part of our lot or yard. At least a couple dozen residents of this park run in and out of those woods daily. We don't pay any attention to them. A few weeks, or maybe a month ago, we became briefly involved with one of our neighbors here in the park. This neighbor's name is Teresa. We did not know Teresa very well as we usually keep to ourselves. She was more of an acquaintance, not really a friend. For a living, Teresa cleans and fixes up foreclosed homes to get them ready for resale. Teresa was looking for someone to work with her. This is where we became involved with her. My husband was discussing with her the possibility of taking up the offered position of working with her. Teresa has briefly visited us at our trailer 3 or 4 times for her and my husband to discuss this. Unbeknown to us, Teresa was also cooking up meth on the side. She did this at her own home. She never cooked, used, or even mentioned meth at our house, or in our presence. Apparently the police were onto Teresa for cooking meth and had been investigating her. A couple weeks ago the police came beating on our door. They wanted to interrogate my husband and I about meth. Apparently they had found out that Teresa had visited us at our house a few times and they wanted to find out if we were part of a meth ring or whatever. They searched our house, where they found nothing because we do not do meth, we don't make it either. The police also searched the grounds near our trailer; they searched the woods where they apparently found a couple of discarded meth labs inside of some plastic grocery bags. When they found the meth labs, they arrested my husband and I, called social services to take our kids for the night, and hauled my husband and I down to the jail, which is the next town, for more questioning. After about 3 hours of this, they released us from jail, with no charges. I am telling you true, we have never had anything to do with any meth or hard core drugs of any kind. My husband has smoked weed on occasion, and I don't even do that. (I'm not judging anyone who does use weed either, just I never have) We did not throw meth labs into the woods either, we didn't even know they were there. Anyway, this entire experience was a nightmare to me. As near as we can figure from what we were told, the sole reason we were interrogated by, and ever suspect at all, was simply because Teresa had been known to visit us a few times. At the time of our interrogation, they could not find Teresa. About a week after we were arrested, interrogated and released, the police did find and arrest Teresa. On the same day, the police harassed my husband and I once again. They did not arrest us this time, but did question us and make a few threats. They took my bank cards and such and tested them for meth. They claimed that my cards had tested positive for meth. They held up a test tube with a white tip and explained that the white was turning purple which met that there was meth on my cards. I looked and looked at that white tip, there wasn't any purple on it at all! Then one of the cops claimed that the white tip was becoming more and more purple as they waited. (It was not, that tip was pure white and remained that way!) Anyway, the cop said he was going to wait a minute and then test my cards again and if the cards tested positive a second time that he was going arrest me for possession of meth! Then all the cops sort of huddled in a group discussing something. A minute or so after than, they told both my husband and I that we were free to go, and to have a good day, pffft! not likely after being harassed like that! Now since this time, I have been informed by several people that most people's bank cards and whatnot will test positive for meth. I was told that, for example, if someone used their credit or debit card to cut meth, and then swiped that same card through those machines at the store registers, or through an atm machine, then I came along with my card and swiped it through the same machine, then my card would pick up meth residue from that other card, and therefor test positive for meth. Is it true that most anyone's bank cards will test positive for meth for the reason stated above? If so, do people really get charged with possession just because their stupid cards test positive? Because if both of these statements are true, then I will start using checks and cash for everything! Also, do we need to worry about being interrogated and labeled as a suspect any time that any person that we have become acquainted with in any way gets investigated and/or arrested for meth, or any other drug charge for that matter? Is there anyone here that has ever had to deal with anything like this who can answer these questions for me?
