I started school at 5 years old and I remember that day clearly. I was quite confident, maybe because I have a twin brother and we started together of course. I remember one of the girls crying and her mother looking through the windows at her. I thought she was a cry baby, which was rather mean of me. I cannot recall the teacher at all.

Hi Combedale, it is good to hear that you have a nice start of your first day at school. As for me, my first day at kindergarten is fine, too since i have a friend who is same class with me. Although i am not very close with her but at least i seen one familiar face that able to calm me down. At least, i don't cry at school when seeing my mother was not allowed to stay in the classroom with me. There are other students who cried a lot when their mothers and fathers leaving the classroom.

I think this was the first day of school, but I'm not quite clear on that. I remember my mom walking me there and then leaving.
I was a tough little cookie and didn't cry but I was really scared. I did like the little things we were doing that day which were artistic type stuff, probably coloring but can't be sure.
When it was over, I walked out the door and remember seeing all these bricks on both sides of me and a fence that I couldn't see over on top of the bricks. I didn't think my mom was there but she was and I didn't know this until I walked far enough to where the opening was to get out. Whew! I was glad to see her, that much I remember.

Hello there. I started going to school when I was six years old. I could still remember the first day I went to school. I was so happy when I went inside the classroom. I think our teacher was so kind that time. I really liked her a lot because she looked so friendly. I also liked my classmates because I think they are just cute. I loved looking at our new things like books, notebooks, pencils, crayons, bags, umbrellas and so on. I was so excited to use my things too.
I couldn't forget one incident that day. I think I was still a bit shy that time so when it was already our snack time, I wasn't able to bring out the snack my mother prepared. Then, my teacher thought I didn't have my snack with me so she asked two of my boy classmates to share some of their food to me. Those two boys are cousins and they really had a lot of snack. The mother of the other boy is an owner of a grocery store so he had a lot to eat that time. It was just funny because they refused to give me. Right now, I could still remember those two boys. I also loved it when we all had our placemats during snack time. They were all colorful. I was also excited writing some letters and coloring some pictures that day. I think our teacher also taught us how to sing some songs. My first day of school was really great. There were some funny and interesting things that happened. Right now, I could still see that classroom in our school when I pass by riding the bus in going home. I really smile because of the good memories I had there. I really couldn't forget that very special day of my life. It was the first day of school, my first day of learning. That's all that I could remember about my first day at school. :)

Hi 41CombedaleRoad
Yes i do enjoy my first day of school, i remembered I am very excited and happy during that time to think I am only 5 years old yet I am already in grade one. My siblings and mom oriented me about school and they taught me how to read and write at home so when I went to school I am well prepared and oriented.

no i dint. i was actually crying to go back home. all new faces, new people, all strangers to me. there was no one whom i knew before. of course, i was not the only one. there were others kids who were also crying.
but my parents were waiting for me outside my class. so after some time i was okay. my parents stayed outside my class for first few days. that comforted me. and gradually, i made friends. so later i was not a cry baby. lol ...

Hi,
I started school at 3 and half years old. It was junior KG class. I cried very much. My mother is very much worried about me. When I was sent in the class without my mother I was very afraid and I started crying loudly. This was my first day of school.

first day of kindergarten i went in and tried to anchor myself between the doors with my arms. though i did not cry i didnt want to go, i sat silently in class (i was always very shy and quiet) so i survived it is a scary new experience for a lot of kids.
