what a pity
Hugo Lloris comes to Spurs with 1 reason, becomes number one in Spurs.
But AVB said that he can`t give guarantee the first goalkeeper to Hugo Lloris..
Hugo comes to Spurs with 7,9 millions poundsterling..
Spurs is lucky..They have 4 goalkeeper...
AVB before Hugo coming choose Friedel as number one...
And AVB said if Hugo wants to be number one, Hugo should compete with another goalkeeper in Spurs squad..
AVB consider too that Hugo needs more time for adapting with Premiere League..

AVB is seriously coming Hugo Lloris and said that he will be number one..but now??
I just believe that Hugo dislike this statement from his coach..

It was probably the most stupid statement to make 4 days after signing a player. Apparently Lloris immediately spoke to Deschamps on this issue. I think AVB's man-management is really not up-to the mark and he will need to improve on that if he wants to be successful in the long run.

@ram: This nothing new, all the managers say the same thing when they buy a good player. When Robben got to Bayern, van Gaal said that he needs to work hard to become a regular first team player. Now, Bayern has spent 40 million Euros on Martinez, and Jupp Heynckes said that he will need to work for his place in the team. But it is obvious that Bayern has spent so much money because they want the player to be in the first eleven, game after game. So this is just a motivation talk, nothing more, nothing less. It is a pattern speech, like when the players say before every game that they will have a very difficult game.

But here the equation is slightly different. They pulled Lloris the number 1 French goalie with the lure of first team action and the moment he signs it they issue a statement that you need to fight for a place. I think that is really stupid. You can allow for the player to settle down a bit and of course, there is no need to go public about it.

I think you are wrong. Coaches say the same thing when they buy a new player, that they will have to fight for their place in the first eleven. But when they buy a player for more money, they buy him for the first eleven and not for the bench. If AVB would have said that Hugo Lloris is a guaranteed first team player, it would be disrespectful for the others and would take the motivation away from them. But you can imagine that a goalie like Lloris will be a number one at Tottenham.

He will play, there is no doubt about it. He is much too good, he is way better than the other keepers in the Tottenham squad. Maybe he needs 1-2 weeks to adapt, to learn a few English words so he can coordinate his defenders, but after that he will be the regular number one in the Spurs team.

Why should Hugo Lloris be given automatic starting place if other goalkeepers' form is better than him? Of course he is bought with the view that he could be the number one goalkeeper for Tottenham but that is something he has to earn by merit rather than by his reputation or price tag. Hugo Lloris is a top goalkeeper and he would show his ability to impress in training to get the nod to play. If he has trouble fighting with the three old goalkeepers to get the number one jersey, then he is not that good anyway.

that makes Hugo Lloris dissapointed..
Deschamps said that Hugo is upset..Maybe Hugo thinks he will be automatically to be number one in Spurs (White Hart Lane stadium)..
Give chance to Hugo i think and AVB can consider which one is good between Hugo and another Spurs Goalkeeper..
Hugo is one of the world class goalkeeper.
MU even consider him to be one of the replacement of Edwin Van De Sar, beside Manuel Neuer and David De Gea

No one can deny that Hugo Lloris is a good goalkeeper - that is the reason why Spurs paid a few millions to get him. What AVB said was that Hugo Lloris had to fight for the goalkeeper's jersey. That should be the case in every top teams for every players in every positions. No one should be guaranteed a place to play unless they are the players in the class of Messi, CR7, Maradona etc that could do magic even when they are not 100% fit physically.

I'm not surprised that Hugo is unhappy , who would want to go to a new team and be there number 2 but friedal has been that good he will be hard to displace

Yes, I read about this news, that Hugo Lloris was upset by what was said by AVB. Lloris assume that he came to the Spurs to be the main goalkeeper Lloris but in reality it still must compete with other Spurs goalkeeper like what was said by AVB. Too bad if it did not make the AVB goalkeeper Lloris as the primary because I think the French national team goalkeeper must use his strength as a goalkeeper. Do you think AVB will still make the main goalkeeper Friedel Lloris compare?
