I think all know about Mount Krakatau that erupted in 1883. The eruption swept away everything around it, reaching the height of some 50 meters above sea level. The city of Telukbetung was once under the sea water.
For the last several days, the child of Krakatau, which is now big enough and observable from a ferry that crosses Sunda strait, have been sending out burning lava and volcanic ash. My front veranda floor was slightly covered with the ash.
Do not disregard volcanic ash as it contain dangerous dust that will disturb your lung function, skin disorder and perhaps other diseases. The residents living not far from Krakatau site are strongly advised to wear dust-filtering mask.
Have you heard of this yet? Your take is highly appreciated.

I know of Mount Krakatau from the history books. This is the first time I've heard that there is a child of Krakatau growing. I assume that you're wearing your dust mask if you are close to it. The would be a worry for me. I have minor asthma and I might have significant trouble from something like that.

Yes, thank God. The child of Krakatau has stopped emitting ash. However, many residents are still wearing masks whenever they go out. Just to be on the safe side, I think.

Glad to hear you know of Krakatau. Yes it has a child that is now active. What is worrying us all is that it does not stop emitting the volcanic ash. There are so many people will become the victims of the ash emission.
