Barking dogs

One of the dogs in the neighborhood just won't quit barking! Our dog only barks if someone is here. I guess the way a dog behaves is based on the person who has it and how they train their dog. A lot of dogs in this neighborhood do just that and most of the time the dogs in the neighborhood are barking because another dog is barking. We know when our dog is barking it's because there is a reason.

training is not the only factor in this problem
there could be health problems involved that would cause a dog to bark excessively also
our black lab who in his younger years was highly trained and would only bark when there was a threat
however in his advanced age he started losing his sight and his hearing
he perceived a threat even when there really wasnt

That's a good reason if it's an older dog, but this one is young. The owner should be out taking care of it to see what the matter is with the dog.

We have a terrible problem in my area with barking dogs, all through the day and sometimes in the night and early hours too, usually they are shut out of the house and you hear their constant whining to be let back in again, sometimes they are left out in the cold, and all weathers. It's got so bad that I've got some ear plugs to block out the noise, I need my sleep and these dogs are so damn noisy, I blame the owners who are selfish and in a way cruel for leaving their dogs out all day and sometimes all night.
