A truck driver's wife

When my husband and I get remarried he was a truck driver. We spent the first 6 months of our marriage travelling many states. I'd only to been to a few different states until we went travelling down the road in a semi truck. I got to see different scenery that's for sure. It's a hard to live, but now I have a better understanding of truck drivers. Some people are cut out for that type of lifestyle and some aren't. Since my husband had an injury, we haven't been on the road in a semi for quite some time and at times I miss it. Just wondering if there are any trucker's wives on mylot? If not, is there a job that you really liked doing and you don't do it anymore?

Well, of course a trucker's girlfriend counts! lol It was a blast for me seeing new scenery and people. Also, experiences with new people, but we missed our home life. At the time, we didn't have any home, but now we do.

One of my uncles used to be a truck driver. And one of my female cousins actually used to be a truck driver. I don't know if it's odd or not, but I find that kind of life fascinating. I once watched a documentary on truckers. It was really interesting. They interviewed one guy who drove a big rig and he only had one arm! He eventually got a hook that helped him steer, but for nine months he steered with just a single arm.

Oh, let me tell you AmbiePam it was definitely interesting! That just goes to prove (the man with the one arm) that you can do anything if you set your mind to it! Thanks for sharing!

I hope you have tons of fun. I have a friend whose husband is a truck driver...and she goes with alot. But then there are times when she just wants to stay home or get home and they can't get back because of the loads....I know you will enjoy your time together.
