can we make friend with our boss??i think never do it

as the title described,whether we cann't make friend with our boss,before thought we can,but now,i change my view,boss always is our boss,we cann't make friend,how do you think??

I think you can be friends with your boss outside of work, but he is still boss when it comes to the office or work place, another thing is to keep a little distance for respect's sake.

I am agree with you, we can make friends with our boss outside of work, but you'd better not think he(or she) will treat you like a friend in the work. As a boss, he need to keep an authoritative figure.

I think it depends upon your boss's personality. There are some bosses who wants to keep friends with their employees but there are some that don't like. But I think being friends with your boss won't make you feel comfortable.

hi, for me i think we can still be friends to our boss but of course we should know our limitation,there is no problem to be friend in our boss,especially when we are in the office i will treat my boss as my boss but when we are in the party or happenings we're friends.

It's about professionalism. I also don't like getting too close with my superiors. It's unethical for me. And, as a boss, I also avoid having personal relationships with my subordinates. It's the best way to avoid interpersonal issues and have a better working atmosphere. However, you can always be friendly, which means, being approachable as a boss, and being responsive as a follower.

Well you are absolutely right. We should never befriend our bosses but maintain a professional relationship with him but not a personal relationship. This is because at a professional front all the employees are the same and if we become friends with our bosses then it would severely hamper our focus on the work at the office. What say?

It is not possible due to the professional rationalization in their mind. I have learn from some where that there is no friendship in business and bossism. So it is.

My boss is my ex... We get along well professionally as well as at personal level. Life can be so unpredictable at times; I'd never expected this when we parted many years ago...

why not? if he is a good person, we can be friends, he will help me out whenever needed. After-all, he is a person too, he can be made as friends. a healthy employee - boss relation will be good for working together. but yaa, if he is a too arrogant or a bad person, or tries to take advantage of me, i would prefer to keep a strict employee - boss relation only.
