I think Ajmal is the best spinner in the world and not Herath.

Saeed Ajmal- The Pakistan spinner - The best spinner in the world
India

I remember Sachin's chancy and miserable performance against Pakistan in the world cup semi-final and his chief tormentor was Saeed Ajmal. A lot of people believe He had got out Sachin once but Sachin was lucky to survive. Sachin went on to score a half century after being let off a half dozen times. That was when the world realized that Ajmal is the best spinner in the world but surprisingly Ajmal's name did not even figure in the ICC list. Herath has won the award. Herath, too was not played by Srilanka in the world cup finals against India and he is a fine bowler. But the whole world knows Ajmal is the best spinner in the world right now. Why do you think the ICC panel overlooked his genuine claims?

I believe you are from Pakistan. I rate Ajmal highly because he is the best spinner on view. Well, I don't know why Ajmal made such a late debut when he was in his 30s. But Pakistan has got the most talented players in the world but we are not seeing any great young talent emerging from Pakistan, I wonder why?

Hi Rameez, This is interesting. We have seen so many talented players from Pakistan sinking without a trace. Like Basit Ali, Imran Nazir(he seems to be back). Yes the talent is awesome but most are very immature and can't handle pressure. Like Shahid Afridi, he could have achieved so much more but still comes across as immature and incomplete. I think education shpould be made compulsory but then the govt does not seem to care and the failure of the nation is a big reason. A failed nation coming up with such a great team is true indication of the talent in Pakistan. Hope Imran Kahan becomes president of Pakistan. Any chance that IMMy will become next presidenT???

I hope for Pakistan's sake that Imran heads the govt at some stage soon. About Afridi I did not mean to call him immature as a person but as a player. He is head strong, proud and does not listen to someone offering sound advice. And like you said, he has no control over his mind and wants to send every ball into orbit. He himself has said that some one has done jaadu tona on him and he cannot control his impulsive shot making. This is what I mean , he is not mature as a batsman and there is no point in comparing him with a class bat like Kohli who is a true batsman and not a cross bat slogger like Afridi. As a bowler Afridi is very good but definitely not in the class of Ajmal, no way. He will always be popular with the masses because of his past exploits but even he knows that he cannot repeat his past batting exploits now or in the future. Plus his habit of retiring in anger and then coming out of retirement shows his immature mind. A better captain would have won the world cup semi final match against India but this guy could not take advantage of a wonderful spell by Riaz Wahab and Ajmal. Pakistan had some great moments in that match but his poor captaincy and poor catching by Pakistan let them down. Pakistan cannot have foreign teams visiting Pakistan to play matches because of their support to terrorism strikes and law and order problems, they played host to Osama bin Laden for years before a daring raid by US commandos. They are still hosting wanted terrorists like Dawood and other hideous fundamentalists. But this negativity seems to be a blessing for team Pakistan. They are forced to play on foreign soil and they are playing better than they used to. The one weak area is their batting, otherwise they will do well in Srilanka.

my opinion is deferment, I think Anil Kumle is the best spinner in the world. Because he is the second highest wicket taker.

surely Ajmal deserved the award. And Pakistan said that they will not attend the ICC award function and PCB will give separate award for Ajmal. Event when comparing the wickets taken by two bowlers in this period, it is quite clear that Ajmal is good. It is unfortunate that he is not even in the list of bowlers. I think this not fair judgment for ICC awards and this kind of decision should be strongly criticized by other boards also.

I would say that Saeed Ajmal is definitely the best spinner in the world I don't know how Rangana Herath could be the best spinner. He is just a good bowler. The guy I would say to watch out for in the future is Sunil Naraine.I think he has the potential to be the best spinner in the world it will be interesting to see how he plays in the longer version of the game.I really don't know why the ICC overlooked him.Saeed Ajmal is the best spinner in the world at the moment but if you are asking who is the All-Time best spinner then it will definitely be Shane Warne.
