What is the right word to say?

September 6, 2012 8:01pm CST
Last Sunday is our scheduled sport fest in school, me and my best friend is busy telling stories when my friend receive a call saying his father is in the hospital, my friend and i rushed to such hospital to find out that her father is dead due to gunshot wound in his head and some parts of his body.I cant stand to feel the hurt that my friend feels as tears rolls down his eyes, tongue tied, cant find the right word to say to comfort her. I just hugged her tight and let her cry. Yesterday we gave our last respect to my friends loving father, till this time, i still cant fight the right word to comfort her.I just let her feel that i'm always by her side.If you'e me, what would be the right word that you will say?

Sometimes, words may not be necessary. Actions can speak louder than words. Your presence by her side at such tragic times is something that shows how concerned and deeply sorry you are for her loss. Words cannot heal the pain of loss; I think only giving her time and continually telling her she has your support is enough for now.

hi otanetix, thank you so much, your comment is refreshing, cause honestly speaking even i feels that way, that any comforting words right now wont help since the only thing that she feels is the hurt, i even feel that she don't understand the words i'm saying. but i always be here for her..

Hi, Times like that, no words are necessary. It only adds to the gravity of the situation. Find something that speaks louder than words, simple gestures, show of sympathy or just being there is more than enough to show your unity with someone in times of sorrow.

hi rog, thank you.. i agree, because i think my friend is a strong person, but the lost of some we love can bent down even the most strongest, especially that she grows up in his fathers care.but i know that time will heal the wound but for now all i can do is to comfort her.
